this facility is incredible!!!!!! its in the middle of nowhere MO but draws huge late model crowds, tomorrow (later today) will be the first attempt to show them Short course off road racing and with this track layout they are sure to tell their friends to come back next year. the whole place is less than 2 years old and sports grand stand seating for thousands, track side and pit side; trackside hosts many skyboxes, concessions, a bar, and a go cart slick track for extra entertainment. racing is sure to be excellent on this very technical track and luck may play a huge factor in all the class points battles. Dan VH ran the 3rd fastest pro-2 lap time again in practice in my truck and plans to podium tomorrow. with no worries about the championship we're racing for the win and dialing in the truck!!

all the midwest regulars including greaves, douglas and renezeder. dan vandenhuevel is racing my pro-2 since i can't and his is still in CA. renezeder left his pro-2 in CA and is racing his nissan pro-4 here. he broke the front suspension in practice, not sure what broke though.
fan turnout is off to a good start with pro racing starting in a couple hours.
hord is planning to race chula vista next week.

pro 4 started shaping into an epic battle between renezeder and douglas with both holding the lead a couple times. greaves was hanging out in third racing for the championship. a few laps in carl got into the back of douglas and sent douglas into the hay bails off the big jump. carl was promtly black flagged and johny inherited the lead and win. carl went on to pass douglas and ended up back in second.
pro-lite was shocking as kincaid, hord, and schmidt managed to round out the top 3 within the first lap. schmidt proved to be a tough pass for hord and kincaid got by both early on. hord managed to pass schmidt a few laps later but kincaid was gone on to the win.
pro-2 saw evans take an instant lead and he laid down a blistering 4th lap. taylor broke early battling with oberg while probst was ruffling evans. within 5 laps vandenhevel had my truck in the top 5 after starting in the back row and set his eyes on the podium. within the first 6 laps dan was in third chasing down probst and evans. probst started having suspension problems and dan caught him with many laps remaining. dan ran smooth and fast and was realling evans in when evans started having problems. with about one lap to go evans pulled off and dan vandenhuevel drove my truck to its first podium and win!! dan had the third fastest lap of the day, .01 off oberg but took the truck home to the win!! thanks to my crew and dan for this huge step in our racing program with our first pro podium and win!!!

Congrats Ross, to you and Dan. Good to hear. Dan was looking really good out here last weekend. As for the track, I heard it great, my folks are moving to Branson which i understand to be pretty close. Hopefully next season, the scheduals will work better for traveling spectators and track volunteers.

Does anyone know any results from Wheatland today?
taylor 1st today and champion, dan VH second, rhonda third
renezeder, douglas, brascho. greaves broke but got the championship
hord was off to an early lead with kincaid running 4th or so. 3-4 laps in kincaid spun himself and ended up parked in the track where he was hit and wrecked the front suspension. the race was total mayhem. oberg raced buck up to 2nd after a first turn roll then the truck caught fire with one lap to go.
steele had an awsome weekend with a 2nd in super truck sat and a third in pro-2. sunday he ran a great race with baudoux who blew his engine on the last lap and steele took the win. he was running third again in pro-2 when a hay bail jumped in front of him and broke the suspension.

Wow...a real shame that more people didn't attend this event...given that both the beginning of the year WSORR event and the end of the year WSORR event were so sparsely attended can they even do a year two??
Less than 1000 attend YE WSORR event... (http://www.dirtnewz.com/corr-pressreleases/09-2007/monsterwin-9-24-07.shtml)

lucas oil was happy with the turnout for a first time event. we were racing in dirt late model country, they live and breathe it. now they need to hear about what they missed from their friends so they can come back next spring.. it looked very sparse but the stands were huge so it was hard to guess at numbers.
yes lucas oil, the speedway, and the potawatomi can afford it, we will race there for 2 more years for sure.

I talked briefly to Mr. Lucas and he seemed very impressed with the whole weekend.

They didn't advertise at all for that event. I did hear about it on a local radio station, but it wasn't event specific. No major radio stations advertised it or TV stations.
