On beamed trucks is it ok to have one hub further forward than the other? I was told it was ok up to a half inch from a reputable shop. That seems crazy to me.

Happens all the time. In a perfect world you'd like to see everything square, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Take a tape measure to some stock trucks... you'd be amazed how many things are not perfect or sometimes even close. I've seen an inch of difference in wheelbase side to side on a stock unwrecked truck. Must have been a "Friday" truck.

Then take a tape measure to some desert trucks. You'd be BLOWN away at the (relatively) massive inconsistencies.

My early bronco is no longer near "square" but interestingly drives very straight. 90mph..straight and no bumpsteer. I have been under it numerous times with a tape and finally gave up finding where the probelem is. it doesn't bother me.

if your radius arms are heimed then you could either thread one side in slightly or thread the other side out slightly. also it could depend on where you are measuring from. the best way to measure this would be to use the center of the rear axle hub forward on each side, not from the body.

Unless you axle isn't straight.
