Where are the hotspots of desert racing????????????????
Everyone knows the Tree Bar at Primm........How about everywhere else
The Dash - Anywhere there is a fire
San Felipe - Mirmar
Bay of LA - The best margaritas are at the south end of town
Anyone else have ideas??????? If there's a desert race there has to be a spot!!!

for me, "The Spot" is wherever the Baja Fools set up. If you have been around one of our pits in Mexico you know what I mean. I have yet to see anybody create such a spectacle in the middle of nowhere like we do.
Ensenada: Paris, it gets pretty hot in there
Some where I went last year and will definately stop again is called Buenaventura on Bahia Concepcion south of Mulege. Beautiful setting right on a sandy beach. Little huts of some sort to sleep in, we slept in the sand. Nice restaurant and bar with a pool table. A really nice couple runs the place. I'm stopping here on my way home from cabo.
Cabo: after cabo wabo I'll be wobbling so the spot is wherever I want it to be

It really depends where you are racing.
San Felipe - Rice and Beans
Gonzaga Bay - Alfonsina's
Mike's
San Quintin - The Mill
There are a loads of them
I also agree with the Baja Fools guy...during the 05' 1000 we were out in the middle of
no where (coming off of the summit) and all of the sudden there were signs for 'free welding' 'hot coffee' 'fresh doughnut.' Where we came upon them there were a whole bunch of guys cheering us on in this virtual oasis in the desert. I am not sure it it was the 'fools' or 'loco mocos,' but very cool.

OK, I'm not knocking any of the places mentioned here, but I can't believe no one has mention the Desert Bar outside of Parker. If you go the Desert way it's a great ride in and out.

Nice addition to the list. I haven't been there in so long, I wonder what new structures he's added since the church facade.

Pics look great, and sounds like fun, but they seem like they are not open much.
Still no mention of how to get there other then buckskin mountians and Parker.

They (the Desert Bar) are limited as to the hours and days of the year they are open because there is/was only the one person running it. There is/was a two shot maximum per person, to keep the riff-raff down. There was no electricity at the bar so it closed at dark. There is no paved roads to it and no signs telling you where to turn. There used to be a tanker truck parked atop the hill and the running water was gravity fed from there. Once the stage and BBQ were built the bands started showing up but they used to (and may still) need to bring a generator to run the amps and speakers. The entire complex is a work of art; most of it is recycled/surplus metal and wood and not much of it is treated so you get the rustic look and feel of an abandoned town. I think the place was even featured in one of the hoity-toity architectural mags once. And there was a rumor that the owner was constantly bickering with the tribes that owned the surrounding land because you had to cross there land to get to it, but the owner always told the tribe that if they wanted to tax him for use they better pave the road.
