I agree it's really hard not to step on someone else's race... SNORE uses the same dates every year usually and so does SCORE... Casey changes his stuff sometimes due to something like the Nevada 1000 or some new course, but for the most part we all try to take into consideration others' schedules... We don't take into account MDR or CODE because most of our racers don't go there and they don't come up here... Our main circle of focus is SCORE, BITD and MORE...You can't take everyone's schedules into consideration, mainly those who you know you have crossover from... The "shows" have the most flexibility - they don't have BLM time of year restrictions like we do, but they too don't care about anyone but them...
CORR just plain doesn't care about anyone but themselves... I called two months ago for their schedule when we were setting up ours and was told "NO - you have to wait until the awards banquet," which was b.s. because they just let it out to the public this past weekend... We have asked for their schedules to avoid a conflict - not for racer count but for contingency vendors, but they will not give it out until everyone else has their's posted and then their schedule is known to change, with them putting races on top of everyone else's.. When they first started, they did that to SNORE - I sent a letter asking that they be considerate and we all work together.. they apologized and said it wouldn't happen again, which was very short-lived... they moved one of their races on top of ours after changing their schedule...

I've done the calendar for 5 years now. Every September I go to print and debut it at the Off Road Expo. From September 15th to October 5th, so many dates change it is unreal. Take my frustration from a calendar side and turn this into a race promoters frustration. You secured dates with the 8 other sanctioning bodies, then they change. Now yours are out of whack. Then you change yours, which steps on someone else's race.
SCORE, MORE, BITD, MDR, SNORE and the Off Road expo used to be our schedule. Then the trade show thing went nuts. We have 10 shows a year now. That is way too many. I say there should be 4 well put-together shows and get rid of the other 6 that don't do that well anyhow. Then we added CORR, which is so much fun, but racers have conflicting races and it pulls a few thousand people from those races for conflicting weekends. We can't even get into the other little Rhino Races and Trophy Kart races. Add your kids soccer games on here, and you have one hell of a year!
It's a logistical nightmare for us, because we have racers to support at every race. This weekend will be at the Expo and BITD. The SSSS was on a CORR weekend. We are spread really thin don't sleep enough!! :)
I wish MDR and MORE would combine series. I know there are probably a million reasons why people wouldn't want that, but I sure do!
Oh, and the calendar will not debut at the expo this year. Because of all the date changes and mess right now, I've decided to wait to release it next month so we can have more correct dates...
