I have tons of respect for Johnson and none for LeDuc. LeDuc needs to work on his attitude, because it sucks.

Do all of the LeDuc boys need mommy to step in for them? I had to deal with her at Laughlin quite a few years ago when we beat Kyle in 7S. Really a classy lady.

I agree with all of you, everyone was using that fence for a berm, and for Todd to try and pass right there on the outside was a bad call.

I dunno. I saw Johnny Greaves get docked nine points last race for doing something a lot less blatant. Greaves moved into Carl Renezeder's line only Carl didn't brake the way Todd did and they ended up colliding. NINE POINTS. I saw Dan Vandenhuevel have to brake to avoid colliding with Ricky during that race, too when all he was doing was holding his line. Maybe if there was a little more consistency in what is allowed (and who is allowed to do what and who isn't) it wouldn't be so frustrating for a lot of people.

Looks like Ricky had the line and Todd got pinched off. He should have realized Ricky was going to slide up....in turn Todd should have drove under ( with all that rockstar power he has). The past is the past he said you said come on. Where is Curt in this picture? Its CORR!

Wow, Todd really comes off like a little punk in that vid! Ricky did nothing wrong there. If Todd knew what he was doing he would have let RJ drift wide and dive back underneath him and pass him right back. Oh well, CORR = Drama I guess!

Todd did come of like a spoiled little rich kid.Go back home to mama and have her pamper your ego you big sissy.Wipe the tears off her shoulder and have her at your next race to say how great you are.The track is fast with big horse power trucks in the dirt, like he has never had a rubbin is racing moment.Maybe he should go to Nascar where there is a little bit more control????

What does half trackin mean,RJ did not hold his line,he took the corner on the inside and
ended up near the wall, thats whole trackin.Todd should cut to the inside coming out of
the corner and clip RJ IN THE REAR spinning him out !!!!!
Although i didn't see what Todd did the previous corner "killing" RJ???

Looked like good clean racing! Todd pull the titty out of your mouth and go make a name for yourself like Ricky did. Ricky's an icon, I liked how ricky wasn't using any bad words like a true pro. Todd was acting like a punk ***** middle schooler. i have tons of respect for curt he's also an icon in the off road world. His boys need to mature. Go Ricky!!!!

does anyone know whats up with valerie leduc?? why does she drive that slow truck?? Is it a will see how ya do before we really shell out the bucks for a competitive truck thing? or what?? that thing is lap traffic. im not doggin her drivin just the truck, maybe that truck could do more i dunno, any comments?

Bill
October 1st, 2007, 02:07
Valerie didn`t drive at all this weekend.Mike humason (sp) bought the motor for the truck so they switch off each race weekend but Kyle drove it today and lost the drive shaft out of it.

All in All, that was a GREAT race though, right guys?

That race was awesome- It's pretty clear in the pics I was looking through when I posted them though that RJ was challenging for the lead until Leduc came up and started racing him hard first- Until the end Leduc was 3-5 truck lengths back, so I don't know what Leduc was whining about... oh yeah, not getting his way I guess. no one likes getting 2nd, but 3rd is even worse....hahaha

RJ did not hold his line. He tried pulling a slide job and Todds nose was there. The video clearly shows that Todd was almost dead even with RJ when they hit. I am sure RJ thought he was clear the last time he glanced to the right but Todd was able to pull up along side quickly. I dont think either driver was in the wrong but when your racing hard tempers do flare.
I am sure the two of them will work it out, hopefully not with there trucks. Best way to get back at someone your fighting with is to beat them and do it cleanly. That hurts more than words.

JenDiggityDirt
October 1st, 2007, 08:56
The only reason you people are talking about this is because someone was there to catch the exchange with a camera. I have seen pro racers exchange words and finger gestures and shaking fists and crap like that all the time. Of course they're going to be heated - they just finished a race. Do you think maybe there's some adrenalin involved? I still think that from what I see on the video and from what I saw at the track that Ricky flubbed. He didn't think Todd was there and he screwed up. He frickin TURNED into Todd's line - he was going left and then all of a sudden he was going right. I'm not understanding how you people aren't seeing that from the video. That kind of move is typically not tolerated in CORR and if TOdd didn't brake and RIcky had taken him out the officials would have very likely taken action against Johnson. There is precedence here that proves he was in the wrong (see Antelope Valley race and the decision against Greaves in the Greaves-LeDuc wreck).
Anyway, I think you guys are also being pretty messed up about his mom appearing on the video and having some words. Families usually go out there when someone is on the podium and it's not Todd's fault his mom chimed in. She's an outspoken woman with a lot experience in the racing community. Was she supposed to just stand there and keep quite like a good little woman is supposed to? WAJ.

Ricky Johson's front bumper from the weekend: Completely intact and ready for Dallas

Ricky Johnson's rear bumper, bedsides and all all rear body hangers: Junk

Thats what happens when you go into the other line and your competitor has to slam the brakes on to avoid getting put in the wall.

You know, I typed that, then I deleted it because I really think this whole thing is rediculous. We will continue to conduct our business professionally and with class. To us, it's not personal, it's racing.

It's unfortunate that for some, that's not always the case.

I think if somebody should be upset after their race it should have been Huseman in the last race of the day who got tagged 3 times in a row under yellow by Barlow (who wasnt in contention at all for a top spot)hard enough to throw the driveshaft leaving him only able to putt around the track for a finish in front wd, yet you never heard a word cuz thats racing.

Todd isnt a little spoiled rich kid. He works hard for what hes got. Most of us dont have a ton of cash to pay a bunch of full time employees to do all the prep work. In Todd's case he is the Owner/Driver and does all the prep work along with Curt and Kyles help.

That was some of the most intense racing I've seen in a while!!! All I know is that stuff like this is what CORR has to have in order to bring the crowds. I took my dad who's not even into off-road racing and he had a BLAST, talked about it all the way home to El Centro. CORR knows this and it's why they have the mandatory yellow lap mid-way through the event, makes for close racing and more carnage, why else would they bunch everybody up in the middle of the race and at the peak of the drivers adrenaline rush??? They also will continue to bring in talented, famous athletes and throw them in 850 horsepower trucks for the media hype, it works. Good Stuff!

I don't know how the drivers keep track of who they need to "take out" from one race to the other. The names change but the same thing happens every race. Carl against Johnny , Chenni vs Huseman, RJ vs Todd, Douglas vs the world. :D

after watching the vid, it looks as if RJ came off that jump wrong and got thrown over to the right..I don't know either person better then another but I would have to say ..these outburst would me make me, pull my sponsorship money from a team that would put on these displays. To say "I am gonna take you out" is classless and unprofessional. Be angry, upset, but do it in the trailer away from your public...

Gosh....that's a tough one. Being a racer, I know full well how things can happen on the track - from your seat it seems one way, from someone else's it seems another way - it's frustrating to try to run a clean race, when there are others on the track who may not play like that......but then, who can really tell if something was done on purpose or there was a bobble? Really, the only person who knows is the person who made the contact - and in racing, I don't think there is anyone who hasn't made contact someway or another....so who casts the first stone? Frustrating all around, and when those trucks cost so much, I guess the racer who has to pull the most out of their pocket and has the smallest pockets to pull from might be a bit more upset by on track damage.....

From a spectator's view, for what it's worth - that was some great racing. That track was slick, and was rutted, and there were some places where it was hard to find a line.....so I'm surprised by how well alot of those guys managed to stay off each other.

Can't wait till the next round, that's for sure!

Just got home from the MID AMERICA OFF ROAD ASSOCIATION'S FALL CLASSIC in Casey Illinois. Racers came from as far away as Nebraska and Florida to "duke it out" on the short course on Saturday, race the KcHilites Night event, the only off road night race East of the Mississippi, and finishing with Sundays 220k enduro. Having been involved in off road racing from the early 80's the one thing that i would note that sets these guys apart from the other so called off road short course series is the drivers. MAORA has been at it for over 32 years and will continue "do it" long after the others have thrown their final flag. Here is an e-mail i recieved from one of the long time members who was a corner worker this weekend.

Hey Greg,
If you are putting together a final newsletter about the last race, I hope you will point out some good examples of "Sportsmanship" put forth by some of our racers.

One was from Saturday night. The others were from the Enduro.

Dirk Carlen "sold" Kevin Hand a rear-end for his race truck for $50 so Kevin could run the Enduro on Sunday.

Whoever was driving the "Lucas Oil" buggy #311 stopped by a spotter to inform us of a buggy that was broken down on the track. He did this with two buggies right behind himself so he knowingly gave up some spots.

Dave Fasbender did the same type of thing with a different spotter.

All of the spotters and EMT's who worked together to carefully and safely remove Ashley Higgs from Justin Brummers car. (In case you haven't heard, Ashley has no broken, dislocated, or compressed vertebrates. She has stretched and strained tendons and will be very sore for a couple of weeks).

Thanks,

Bill Albin

Keep in mind that Bill does not follow Corr or Wsorr and has no idea about the incident that this thread is all about. Also note the the driver of the #311 was Kyle Lucas.

Having said that, one thing comes to mind...

"We dont have PRO-Classes because we are all sportsmen"

Dont take this as an attack on the integrity of anyone involved with any of the current or past run series. But being the "show" also means being the showmen. As we all try to take ourselfs and the sport to "the next level" we all need to step back for a moment and make sure that we are are doing and saying on and off camera is not only in our own best intrest but also in the best intrest of the sport. Let's make sure that our actions "trackside" make the kids of today want to be the Champions of tommorow.

always racin

check us out, who knows, you may just be our next new member........

People People People..

Its racing, this is what happens. No reason to personally attack either one these guys. They are both great!!!! Sometimes tempers flare after races.

Ricky Johnson is a total icon in the sport. He would give is right nut to win if he needed to. He is a great spokesman for the sport and has really helped coach a lot of drivers along the way (me included).

Todd Leduc is also a great guy. The Leducs are living the American dream. I dont know a lot of people that are making a living out of racing. These guys are doing it and they are doing it as a family. When you really get to know Todd, you will soon realize he is one of the nicest guys around. Todd would do anything for anybody. Say what you want to say about Todd, but there is no way you can say he is a spoiled brat. Todd works for everything he has and nothing has been given to him. Todd is living the dream and probably barely making it... why you may ask, because it is the coolest sport in the world and he loves it...
