looking around at the corr pro lite, and from what I've read it seems that the nissan motors have a little more longevity, by comparison that is. Anyways, I was looking for some info on how much these engines cost, and also how long they can realistically go betwen rebuilds. Also what do the transmissons usually cost for prolite, haven't really seen prices anywhere.
Thanks for the feedback, a few of us are thinking about building a race truck for our senior project for our ME major. We are trying to check all the facts before we make a decision on what route to take.

-thanks

Get in touch with Chad Hord or the other Nissan Pro Lite drivers

For the trans I would call Liberty at 313-278-4040. They make a trans very similar to the G Force and are better priced.

Contact Nissan Motorsports, they build the motors. Cost $13k and up, depending on what you want. You WILL NOT be able to buy what Chad Hord runs, TOP SECRET.

G-Force GF-5R Tramsmissions run $5500, www.gforcetransmissions.com

It is hard to say how long the motor will last, there are many factors. Most teams are at least putting in rings and mains every other race weekend.

I have used Ford and Toyota Motors that i can put together for you, PM me if interested.

kincaid is faster than anyone, goodwin does his. federico bought a goodwin engine this year but requested a little longer life than kincaid gets out of his. goodwin is in wisconsin, google it.

Goodwin engine like Kincaids $37,000
like Federicos $29,000
Goodwin builds great engines, but at that price I would run an Esslinger Ford.

Run an esslinger and call Huseman engineering to build it...

Turnkey Esslinger is $19500 off the dyno, this includes Carbs, intake, and ignition. Its the best way for a privateer to go. We ran all season on one motor last year changing main bearing once. This year we have has two issues, a broken rocker arm and a shredded timing belt most likely from a rock getting between the pully and belt. So maintenence, keeping fluids in them and luck are all huge factors in longevity.

Kritter are you sayying to buy the parts from Esslinger and then have Husman build it?What the advantage of this?

thanks for all the info guys. We are just in the planning phase right now, trying to gather as much info as possible before we jump into anything. We know we are going to build something for going fast offroad, just not sure what direction yet.

Thanks again,

I raced my truck with a new Esslinger for the first time last week in Chula Vista. I still have wood.... Best $19,500 I ever spent.

Joel, How did Jr's old truck work for you? did you have to mess with the shocks at all?

The truck worked great. I think we are going to slow down the rebound in the front just a bit, but that is about it.

Contact Sly who used to work for Nissan and Nissan still contracts him to do track support for all the Nissan teams at each race. He used to build Chad Hord and Art Schmitt's engines and currently builds all the privateer teams. According to Sly, the engine will last a season as long as there is water, oil and does not take in dirt. This was confirmed by privateers, Curry, Wallace and Sacio. You may want to contact
them to confirm this.
