Hey guys,
I have a Tubeworks rearend on my truggy. I lost the vent hose and was wondering what is the best type of breather to use? I have heard a small 2" K&N but i was wondering what else people out there are using? Also, is there any requirement as to how long or high the breather should be placed?
thanks,

depends on the application. The only reason the hose is there is keep water out for when you go in to what up to your vent hole. The hose it like a snorkle. So run it as high and long as you want.

In off-road racing the differential gets very hot even if you run a differential cooler. The hot air needs a way to expand without blowing out the axle oil seals.
We run a Tubeworks rear axle and moved the vent fitting to avoid the ring gear throwing oil out the vent.

Where did you move the vent to? and what type of breather do you run?

Run it up the upper link and them up to the chassis. I route them high just incase of the water crossings. I use 1/2" fuel hose. Do not route it back, the acceleration of the car can sometimes create a siphoning action.
This is what i use.

Definitely have the breather hole coming out of the housing where the oil is not in direct contact, and route the hose long and high with a good filter.
