Have you asked the manufacturer what it is setup for? If it's already got shock mounts, they set it up with SOMETHING in mind. I'de start there.

Under his circumstances, I don't think talking to the builder is an option.

Without seeing the car or knowing it's state of completion, I would put the car on jackstands, grab a tape measure and cycle the suspension. Take measurements between the upper and lower shock mounts with the suspension at full compression and full droop. This should give you a basic idea on the stroke length of the shock you'll need. Then give King shocks a call.

Do you mean 3" bypass and coil-over; if so thats overkill. They weigh a ton and are much more expensive. If you mean 3 tube bypass and coil overs, I'd call King, let them know your set-up, and have them assist you in choosing. They'll sell you a set and leave them empty so that you can cycle them and clock the bypass/piggyback. Then when your ready take them back to them and they will assemble them. At that point I'd take the car to get weighed and you can then get a better idea of what spring weights you need. If the springs don't work out they will exchange them as much as you like until you are satisfied as long as you don't damage them.
