At this point, off highway rec areas need all the help that they can get so I am posting this for a mx track! Please do your part and send in an email, or attend the meeting tomorrow afternoon.

Sun Valley Motocross - take action now.

As you may know, Sun Valley Motocross will be opening next month based on passing a few last hurdles.

The track has gained it's zoning approval, but this approval has been appealled.

You can easily help beat this appeal. Do it now - don't put it off!

The Planning & Land Use Committee meets Tuesday, Oct 16th.
The committee members are Councilmen Reyes, Weiss & Huizar.
Click the E-mail links for the following councilmen:

Councilman Reyes councilmember.reyes@lacity.org
Councilman Weiss councilmember.Weiss@lacity.org
Councilman Huizar councilmember.Huizar@lacity.org

Simply tell them your name, and in your own words that you want them to support the Sun Valley Motocross Park .

That's it!

You are definitely invited to come to this meeting.
The more people we have, the better the odds are that we'll prevail.
Bring your friends, family, etc.

Tuesday October 16th, 2007, at 2:00p.m. City Hall, 200 North Spring Street ,
Los Angeles, CA 90012, Edward R. Roybal Hearing Room, #350.

Please make plans, and e-mail stangale@pacbell.net to confirm you're coming and how many you're bringing.

Forward this e-mail to everybody so they can help ensure the track opens next month.

Remember - your support is the driving force behind Sun Valley MX’s eventual success!

where is the track located? Is there any online pictures I could see of the track?

well, I answered my own question. This track looks good and is REALLY close compared to other tracks from Coastal North Orange County. I mapquested the distance and found it to be 43 miles from my OC house vs 80 from glenhelen and 75 from elsinore. Somebody needs to tell the track owners to contact one of the media websites-racerxill.com, transworldmx.com, motocross.com, proride.com etc... I check these nearly every day and have never heard of this place!

I unfortunately got the notice at a rather late hour. In the future however, I would like to forward this kind of info. to magazines such as RacerX, TWMX, Dirt Bike, Dirt Rider, etc.

I sent emails to all parties mentioned above in re: "support of sun valley mx" and received responses from all. I used the family angle... how it keeps lil junior off the streets and doing something constructive with his/her time.

We anxiously await tonight's decision and will go from there! I will advise once I receive any further information.

UPDATE

October 17th, 2007
Bad News - but it ain't over!

The Planning and Land Use committee voted to support the appeal, in essence opposing the motocross track. The Councilmember’s staff spoke during the hearing and said “The Councilmember cannot support the motocross track.” Only 5 people showed up in opposition to the project. Make your voice heard and contact Tony Cardenas and your respective councilmembers.

The fight to save the motocross track is not over. This item will be before the full City Council on Wednesday, October 31st at 10:00am. It is imperative that we gain our Council support. Show up on Halloween at City Hall - wear your jersey and show your support!

Dial 311 to contact your Councilmember and ask for support (the operator will ask for your address and then connect you to your respective council office).

People who live near the track and the surrounding area, you must Call Councilman Tony Cardenas at 213/473-7006 and request that he support the motocross track.

Anybody and everybody who wants to have a Motocross track in Sun Valley E-mail all the Councilmembers and make sure to cc stangale@pacbell.net
