uhhhh, okay, do they know that its an off-road race? Its cool that the 1K is getting international attention but I don't give them a chance in hell. I think Malcolm Smith raced a bike similar to that one way back when. Well, best of luck to them though.

These guys have raced Baja quite a few times and finished most races. I think its

great their attempting the 40th on this vintage bike. They will make it a lot farther

than most people think if not all the way to Cabo.

Yes, they know it is a off road race and these guys aren't some crazy idiots out for the first time. They have raced and finished in baja several times. This is what Baja racing was born on, not everyone has to have a $500k vehicle to enter this race. It is about beating Baja.

I hope they make it to the finish, they just have to average 25mph to finish. You have to love thier spirit.

I highly doubt they will be using those tires. AS was stated before these guys know what they are doing. Watch and learn.

They'll probably do better than many of the Sportsman entries.

For those of you who may not know, the Honda CL-72 was the first bike to run the 1000 in 1962 and was the reason we have a race today. Bud Ekins rode the bike from TJ to La Paz. There were plans to do a documentry during this years 1000 to re-trace the original 1962 run. SCORE was aware of the plan and was going to be a part of it as well. Bud Ekins, before his passing, was even going to ride off the start line on the bike and a number of motorcycle legends had also agreed to ride the bike down the original course. Sorry to say that due to lack of sponsorship the production company (same guy who brought you The Motocross Files & Epic Ride) was unable to pull it off. The plan has not been totally stopped...if they can secure the monies it may happen next year.
