BITD Henderson 400 Question

Hey all, I have a quick question about the Henderson 400 thats comming up. If I recall, the mc/q race was like 120 miles or somtehing like that. Is that true? IF so, is it going to be the same this year?

You do about 60-65 miles of the car/truck loop early in the morning, then the bikes/quads go out on there own loop for four laps. (Ironman entries I think only go 2 laps.) I think the mileage of the bike/quad loop was around 35 miles. This is how it was last year, I have not heard anything about this year, but would expect the same.

1 fifty mile loop on the C/T course and then 4 times around on the bike course at 40 miles per loop. We are done for the year, you guys have fun.

Eldorado Valley. Down the 93 like you're going to Laughlin. On the right just as you turn off from the road going to boulder city there is a dry lake bed and quarry on the right. Main pit is there. There are always pit signs.

Im really not sure what the course is gonna be like. I heard a lot of the riders last year complaining about all of the rocks. I go riding out there all the time, (and jean) it jsut depends where they take the course. It should be technical in some area, but nothing quads cant get thru, and if quads can get thru it, so can we. lol....

Since this is my first race, (and not a lot of money to spare if any!) Im just taking my truck, our two bikes, and one of my freinds who will be hanging around the truck and can help us out if we need anything in the pits. Nothin fancy, just two 5 gallon gas cans and teh bikes. lol



BTW: are race radios required in bitd? if so, does anyone know where i could get one for cheap? and not for $400 for a whole assembly. As a teenager, I dont have a whole lot of money, so the budget is tight.

hey Nick, you dont need a radio..... i dont use one...

this is cheap for me to. 10 gallons of fuel, truck, toy hauler, my buddy and his kwad with his partner and thats it.... we will prolly camp with our friends who race a class 10 car. they have anything and everything if we need it and love to help out! we are leaving thursday night some time.... you are more than welcome to camp/pit with us amigo! we do have to leave after the race on saturday though. got a race in wickenburg on sunday we are doing also.... let me know if you wanna camp with us.

The bike/quad course is probably the most tight and technical course us quads raced on all of last year. It has a little bit of everything, rocks, whoops, sand washes, uphills, downhills, did I mention the rocks and whoops? About the only thing you will not find is much silt. It is not really sandy either, most of it is in sand washes, so it is that course gravel type of dirt. In all honesty, the course is pretty fun, different then most of the other BITD races. I think you guys will enjoy it. Like RNL Photo said, if a quad can get through it, bikes should not have much of a problem. Heck, if I was able to get around it, anyone can!:D The car/truck course is not to bad either, but it is fairly rough and rocky, but since it is as wide as a car/truck, you can pick your lines though it.

I am not racing this race, but I planned on being in the main pit just to spectate and hang out. If either of you need some pit help, let me know, I would be more then happy to lend a hand.

First bike is off the line at 6:30 a.m. on Sat. Dec. 1st. Just got the final info packet in the mail last night.

There is also a live concert at 6:30 p.m. the night before the race.

I will gladly put up the schedule of events when I get home. I am at work and don't have the paperwork here with me.
I do know that Thursday the 29th there is a local school event in Henderson and pre-run registration.
Friday the 30th is the pre-run, regular registration, contingency, and tech. The drivers meeting is at 8:00 p.m.

According to the bitd site- they are going to Gordon McCaw Elementary School.... They shoudl come out here to Spring Valley HS. hahaha...

oh, and i think the pre-run is just for the trucks/cars... or just that course anyways.... Unless they change it for this year, the mc/q wont have a pre-run....:( lol

Is there a course map that can be posted?? With the 1st mc/q and first TT only one hour apart, that raises some questions interms of; by the time our class is up, the TT's wont be far behind. Or do we run a totally different course than the trucks?

You only run 22 miles of the car/truck course first thing in the morning, then the bikes/quads jump on there own course for the rest of the race. By the time the first car is off the line, you should be well into the first loop of the bike/quad course. My guess is BITD will post the course map sometime early next week.

The final info packet said the start for C/T (7:30)is approximate so I am assuming it will be after the last bike/quad is off since Casey is always at the start line. He can't be two places at once. :)

well all i rode was the first car/truck loop. the wheel bearing went bad im guessing. broke the rear wheel hub and put a huge hole in it... the wheel now wobbles back and forth! expensive weekend for me but still had fun out there! i seen a couple of camera guys on the first loop, anyone know who they were and there websites by any chance?? thanks alot!
