I'm rebuilding the forks on my '84 KX 125 and I'm having problems removing the allen bolt from the bottom of the fork. I have the allen wrench and was able to break the bolt lose but when I tried to remove it it just spins the dampener inside of the fork. I bought the tool to hold the dampener rod in place from Kawi but I still cant get the bolt out. Any advice? Thanks to everyone thats given me advice for this project

Even with the tool, that can be difficult.
An air tool is easier, as the speed chases it out faster.
You may try putting the fork spring back in the tube and putting pressure on the cartridge?
Good luck.

I tried it with pressure. No luck at all. So what your saying is that If I could rig the hex to a drill and spill the hell out of it it would come out? Thanks man.

If I remember right...
The tool just puts pressure on the cartridge, it doesn't lock it in.
THe air tool would spin it fast enough.
Becareful with the drill, the potential disaster is stripping the alum threads with the steel bolt.
Try it cautiously.

the tool should hold the cartridge so you can unscrew the bolt, if that doesnt work re-install sping and cap, put as much pressure on the spring as possible and with short spirts with an impact should completely remove the holder allen, works for me!
