Tossing around different ideas on how to get around 200hp or so for a playcar for the least amount of $$. I noticed a rebuilt Ford 2.3 Turbo for sale. I've seen these in numerous buggies over the years, but not many lately.
Anybody got anything good/bad to say about them?

4.3 chevy V6. A few of my friends had them in their cars and they worked great. Lots of torque and cheap.

2.3l turbo is very reliable at 200hp. You put playcar so I am guessing buggy? Esslinger engineering has the adapter to vw trans.

OHC Ford 4.0- 200+ horses, around 240ft pounds of torque: $1,500!!! You'll never be happy with a 2.3, turbo or not, I raced one for many years....

I Have A Buddy Who Runs A 2.3 Stroked With A 2.5 Crank, Long Rod Turbo In A Ranger. Very Reliable 25 Pounds Of Boost On 114 Race Gas But That Package Is Bucks. 4.0l Ford With A Cam Much Cheaper And Pretty Bullet Proof In A Lite Car. Decent Bottom End, And Produces Decent Power Dime A Dozen.
