Does anyone have any info on a pump system for these? I'm more curious about how to design the systems and wanted to start small. A few people have said make it full flow, extra sump & good cooler, but I'm more seeing if I can get a system to work. I just don't know anything about the pumps and how to pick one for a particular oil pressure or how to decide how many stages. Most use 2 returns and a supply that is the same flow rates as the 2 returns added?

not really sure what you're looking for, but here's a good place to start.....http://www.petersonfluidsys.com/
good luck....check around. I think there are some kits already out there for both type I and IV...Saco comes to mind for some reason. Maybe Berg as well....

We use 2 stage Autocraft pumps on our racing engines. Pauter Machine also makes nice VW products. Peterson makes nice sump containers and scavenge filters.

If you just want to start small just start off with full flow case, 30mm oil pump, oil filter and then a quality oil cooler (PWR, Setrab, or a Derale oil cooler) . If your not flat out racing just stick to a basic cooling system. Most class 5, 5/1600, and 1600 cars run with the above set up.
also check out this link for full flowing your case...
