Wow.........Great interview guys. I may have misunderstood, but it sure sounds like his sponsorship is on some very shaky ground right now. That is really to bad. I hope the ASO can put on a make up show so RG can keep the sponsorship. It sure would be cool if the make up could be done on a Nascar off week. He sounds bent. I hope the rally can continue. I wonder who RG would put in the H3 for the make up. I wonder how much the sponsor is trying to ride Team Dakar USA vs. Robby Gordon himself. I hope they are ok with another driver. Anyways, great interview.

He said he will race the 500 in his Dakar car possibly...

Yeah, if they do not do the make up and get a chance to run it, the 500 was a real possibility, practically promising a win against the trophy trucks.........10 minutes prior he was saying that the H3 was no longer a "desert" car and that it would not be as competetive as it was 2 years ago in Parker......Gotta love him, he does cover all of his bases (lol). I am really intrigued about who he would put in the car for the make up rally if he could not drive. If it was not for the whole Red Bull thing, I would say try Travis Pastrana. He has been spending alot of time working his way thru the WRC ranks and knows how to drive, RG said he would want a WRC driver in the car. Travis also has testicles of titanium and he is American. With that said, I wonder if logistically the ASO would even consider trying to fit the race in on a Nascar off weekend. The weekend of the Mexico City Race would be sweet. That way RG could just hop on a plane and head over, race and fly back in time for the next Nascar race. But after all of the things that have been said, I am sure they are in no hurry to help out Robby, big name or not.

That was before he really new about the new event that the ASO is gonig to do (I think). I am sure he will still run the Trophy Truck, If they do another make-up event in the spring, I could not imagine them running the H3 at Parker. You are right though, that is what he said.

For all those it didn't get an opportunity to listen to the TORR Dakar Special live I thought I would let you know that the reply is now available on the TORR website. Here is the direct link to the MP3 file. Dakar Special MP3 ( http://www.totallyoffroadradio.com/TORR010908.mp3)

If the MP3 file doesn't work for you can go straight to the TORR website and listen to it from there. Totally Off Road Radio (http://www.totallyoffroadradio.com)

The show went really well thanks to Jim, Ryan, Darren, Robby and Mark. What else can you say about that line up but thank you ALL for the effort!

On a personal level I thought doing the show would help me bring closure to my 2007 Dakar experience but for some reason the squirrel cages in my head are still turning...

Thanks for listening!
