no you dont want to work with it, its speed density not mass air. you dont want to touch that thing. put in a 4.0 or 5.0 only real options.

buy a 4.0 ranger or exploder pull the wiring harness motor/trans and exhaust and then install them into your 3.0 ranger. lol its a pain. we did it on my brothers 2.9 ranger, got the parts outa a junk yard

My '06 3.0 is MAF for what its worth. 4.0's are sluggish with 35's and a cage etc etc. IMO if your gonna spend the time and money to do it, go 302, unless you want it street legal, then it will be easier to smog a 4.0.

i agree. get the 4.0. if you look around you'll get a good deal for it. i got mine free. a friend's son wrecked his explorer and let me have the engine.

just fab up your own motor mounts, some wiring and gtg. your other option is to deal with the 3.0 sock unti you blow it up. (like what i did with my 3.8)
