Video camera Question

I was looking to pick up a video camera for my next deployment and needed some help. Since I just had my kid and it is looking like this could turn out to be a year long deployment I wanted something I could record then send home for the wife and kid to watch, like tapes or something. I also wanted something that I could put on my gear like on my helmet or something to record while I was out working. I did not know what some of the bike guys are useing or any of that and figured I could at lest get pointed in the right direction from someone on the site. Or if someone had something used laying around that they mite sell. Thanks

I have a Helmet Cam system on Ebay. Out of our collective respect for your service to thsi country, If it does not sell, consider it a loan from www.DirtMob.com. It's digital and writes to SD cards. Super easy to use.
