We used to have the number 41 formula 4x4 bronco when CORR was in the midwest, and we had one of the Welchel guys (pro 2 # 41) explain it to us. How should we put this....are you formiliar with the symbolism behind the rainbow sticker on the back of that subaru wagon??? Same thing. from what I've been told.

Superstitions are gay and so is associating numbers with gang activity. I got a 13 tattooed in one of my sleeves and lots of people ask me if I'm in MS13.....I'm not...41 is a joto

It's not the number itself, but turning 41 years of age. There's a popular belief that at 41 your hormones go out of whack and you're more vulnerable to turning gay, it's what you call midlife crisis.

According to my Mexican coworker, it also has to do with 40 being the age when men have to get their first prostrate exams ... and 41 being when they have to come back and get one again. Its the guys that keep on wanting second opinions you have to start worrying about. :p :p :p

13 was considered bad luck etc. many many years before it was associated with gangs.

Motorcycle gangs us 13 as a reference to marijuana. It is because Marijuana begins with the 13th letter of the alphabet. Ken Block races the #43 using the same logic. "Droors Clothing", or what has now become known as DC .:)

The first time I ever heard about the 41 thing is pitting the wide open trophy truck. Originally, both the trophy truck and the pro-2 were going to be the same number. While eating dinner in ensenada, someone told Roger Norman about the number being "gay". Nobody had heard that before so Roger went around the room asking all the locals about it. Apparently, enough people knew about the number that Roger changed it to 30 at the last minute. We had a lot of fun at that race asking everyone about it. We heard that, at 40 you need to get your prostate checked, at 41 you start to enjoy it. There was a story about the 41st person getting away, but I'm not sure it's appropriate.

Your doctors like you guys a little too much! My doc says those type of exams start when you're 46, not 40! ....wait....maybe I'm just too ugly for my doctor to perform the exam and he's been making excuses!

M is the thirteenth letter in the alpha bet. Hence the word "eme." M in spanish. Eme is the abbreviation for Mexican Mafia. Which is made up of mexican members from Southern California. So now, 13, in gang affiliated groups, mean your from the south.

MS13, are El Selvadorians. Malva Salvatrucha... 13. Bunch of Salvadorians, NOT MEXICANS, from the south.

Originally, the 13 was and still used by the southern Mexican gang affiliates. Now some people just claim 13 to represent "So Cal." Just like those stickers we all see posted on the back of alot of peoples trucks. Yup, thats where ~<SoCal>~ derived from.

Now as far as the number 41 goes.... thats new to me, Ive never heard of that.

La Quinta for me. But I'll admit that this is new to me. I hate when people refer to Palm Springs as a gay city. Yes I know they're everywhere, and I usually stay between Palm Desert and La Quinta, but there are alot of beautiful babes here.

So how do you use "41" in real life?

Would it be like:
Your friend does something slightly homo.
"dude, your 41"
or
you would write 41 on his back with a sharpie?
or what?

No I think SoCal was derived from Southern California. rofl. 13 had nothing to do with it.

Thats what I meant, people are just representing, 13 doesnt necessarily mean "gang affiliated" People just like 13 simply to rep So*Cal. It just allllll associates with one another.

If you use 13, or Sureno to identify yourself as being from Southern California, then you are using identifiers which were originated by La Eme or Mexican Mafia. These descriptors are to identify gang members who live anywhere south of Bakerfield. In California, It is expected when a Hispanic gang member goes to jail or prison, he or she is expected to claim their allegiance to the Nortenos or Surenos immediately.

If you have 13 tattooed on your arm, does it mean you are a gang member? No. If you have Sureno as your signature, are you a gang member? No. But someone who doesn’t know you personally can easily make the assumption that you are. As Pest brought up in his post, don’t be surprised if someone asks you if you’re affiliated with a gang.
