Pulling motor

I need to pull the motor from my class 8. The people that built the truck dropped the motor in by using bolt holes on the heads (which are aluminum) to chain up to a cherry picker.

I've been ollking for somewhere on the block to attach bolts/chain to pull it, but on the from of the motor the dry sump is in the way. Someone suggested that I remove the intake manifold and use those bolt holes....

Is there an easy way that I'm not seeing, or can I bolt to the heads without fear of hurting the engine?

Use an engine lift plate that bolts on top of your intake manifold. All you have to do is pull the carb or EFI setup off and bolt it up. You can find these really cheap $20+and its very safe.

Find some empty holes, make sure the engine is balanced and pull her out. Unfortunately I can't tell you where they came from. They've been in the shop for years. I was going to use a plate like the one pictured above but I didn't have one and I didn't really like the thought of the engine hanging off the aluminum intake manifold.

Use The Plate For Carb. Been Using That Method For Years With No Problem
