I sure hope so! It is obvious that Americais growing to accept the hybrid and eventually we will all be driving one eventually. It just makes sense that they will be raced aswell.

It'd be interesting to hear from some of the more expeienced racers what the turnaround time for making these hybrid engines raceworthy would be ... parts-wise and logostics-wise.

Seems to me it could be quite a while. The whole reason VW is a staple is because of its simplicity and accessibility. And overall, the race community only contributes a VERY small portion of emmissions etc.

The cool thing is that the engines are getting bigger and more powerful.

Any of you guys ever driven a Hybrid? the whole concept is that light throttle driving is done on the batteries. Ever raced with a "light foot"?

Regardless, the PHEV's are the ticket for around town, short to medium hops. PHEV's by preliminary designs can go as far as 30+ miles before the motor gas motor kicks in and can operate farther up the throttle curve on electricity.

I want one of the Toyota ABAT PHEV's when they come out, charged off the grid-tied solar panels on the roof of the new house. This all leaves more money for race gas and racing and increasing my carbon footprint the fun way to try and get some warm weather back.
