I think a lot of these teams are figuring out the material compound of the bump stops and are getting a better progressive rate. Now NASCAR gets the teams to have chemical scientists involved.WTF??? They are probally buying thousands of different material densities and testing them on the 7 post. Just my feelings nothing comfirmed.
Pretty soon the front coil springs will just be a tender spring and the shock bump stops will be like a rubber coil over.

Remember for years the coil diameter had to be the same removing any progressive rate.

Duh. You take a chassis design thats 30 years old. Give teams muti millions of dollars each year to each team(why multi team cars tend to perform better). They going to spend every penney trying to win. Coill bound set ups big bar soft springs ETC ETC. This is probably just the next step for now.Hell they figure the spring rate on a tire, for beening just a "stock car" theres a lot of tech.. in every car out there.

My personal favorite was a while back when the teams ran soft springs and high gas pressure in the shocks. Theyed pass the static ride gauge then on the track the air pressure whould lower the car. And after the race as the car sat there waiting for tech the pressure in the shock whould raise the car back to a legal static hieght.

Duh... My point is they do this COT to save money and now they open a new can of worms.

Its not a new can of worms its just more money they can funnel into other things to justify the money they spend. The COT wont save anyone any money. They just spend it other places like bumpstops, or springs or shocks. Or spintrons, or 7 posts or flux capacitors ETC ETC ETC the list gos on.

I cant see any long term money going into the bump stops. Maybe initially but i am sure their will be better ways to spend money after they get some development with the bump stops
