fuel injection to carb swap

My buddy has a chevy 350 out of a 99 3500.

Can we simply buy an intake manifold and carb for a gen 1 and bolt it on? Are we insane? Stupid? Or genious!

Reason for this is to put it in a boat.

I believe that is a vortech engine. Edelbrock makes Performer, Performer EPS and Performer RPM manifolds for that engine. Standard SBC manifolds have a different bolt pattern.
