Nope, those have been there for quite a few years now.

There are the backing plates for teathers for the hood, in the event of a crash where the hood comes off its hinges the teathers keep it from becoming and airborn projectile...

Pete, Even TT drivers need ID to buy beer at PIR.;)

We needed ID to be on part of the infield last year along with some pit passes. Are you getting you passes at will call? You will for sure have to show ID there to pick 'em up.

Ironiaclly Robby lost a hood into the crowd several years ago, which made it manditory the very next week to have the teathers.

Pete I had to give my drivers license for Garage passes me and the wife are going as guests of a friend also the only down fall is they are cold passes and not hot passes (any time the cars are out on the track we have to leave the garage area) but we get to walk around in the restricted areas any other time. Should be a blast the wife is looking forward to hopefully seeing T. S. and his bright orange car. the pit passes we got last November only required me to show the Id and present the pass I purchased but that pass did not give access to garage area

Robby already tried the Mullet and during the wind tunnel test they found to much drag. RG even threw down the "Shocker" but it did not seem to help!
