Here are some random shots of todays team activity.

After a nice French cuisine in a Paris hotel the team moved to a local race shop that stores some of the assets. The agenda is/was last minute big truck tire change and packing gear. The race H3s are in route to the French prep shop to join up with the rest of team. Once all organized the Team and its 25+ crew will start the long cross continent journey to the hosting city of the Hungary-Dakar race; Budapest.

I hope to bring more updates and pictures.

Picture notes:
- Goofing off with big tires
- Spare body parts
- 6 spare front grills....
- 15minutes per wheel x lots of wheels.
- The big trucks have a extra tank all the way in the back besides the two on the sides
- Spare tires off the back

partybarge, Klaus is on a solo mission getting footage for DP and RDC but is hanging out with RG's team for parts of it.

If it works out there is another producer that will be uploading 2 - 3 minute daily highlights of the event on RDC. Once uploaded I will post them.

Sweet!!!!!

I would imagine that spectating would be a little easier on this course than trudging through the sands of Morocco. Maybe We'll get a little better TV coverage also.

Klaus,

To clarify the rear tanks on both trucks are for water (fresh and wastewater) the side tanks are for diesel fuel. I wrote an article on the support rigs for TD USA last year in the April 2007 issue of DIESEL BUILDER magazine. The pdf file is too large to attach but here is the link to my article...

Thanks for posting up info and photos of the Rally for all of us that can't be there, but wish we could!!!:D

Ramses Perez from Toyo Tires told me the other day that he would be reporting the entire trip in his daily blog. It is very informative:

For 4.5 million bucks, he should. The court refused Runn's request to remove the labels from the car this time

Two things I think of note from the Toyo blog....

1--the shop they say they are prepping at, Eric Vigouroux’s...If I remember correctly isn't Eric Vigouroux running an older RG Chevy TT currently?? Or at least he did in the last Dakar...looks like they've kept up a friendly/cooperative relationship of one sort or another...good to see.

2--Not that its much of a surprise but using Eric Vigouroux's shop to prep at also means they are NOT prepping at Ronn's shop which I believe is also located in France...which is one of the benefits RG was probly hoping to get in signing the partnership with him...

I was thinking the same thing, it looks like the hub is simply held in place with the securing strap and the studs through the wheel. Pretty cool idea.

and of course RGM gave me a ride from Paris to Budapest. Robby wants a half page front page banner in exchange for it though.... LOL

Runn did ride once.. but nowhere near the experiance kleezy got..

you sure it wasn't sniper fire?

after consulting the intelligance from his resources, it was determined it wasn't just one sniper on the sandy knoll. there were actually 4 different terrorist cells that all fired at once.

The reason they only aimed for his tongue? They all really like the guy as he is fun to play with.. they just cant stand to hear him speak!
