digital camera

I was thinking about getting a digital camera within the next weak or so. I have needed one for a while now but know nothing about them. I would use it to put pics on my computer and other things. What is a good brand camera to look into? Im not looking for a top of the line one and I dont want a cheapo.

My girlfriend has the Fujifilm finepix 2650. It was about $175 (about $220 with some accessories) and its a 2 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. The pictures print out great. Good camera if you are on a lower budget.

Olympus D550 Zoom, 3 Megapixel, MPEG video (no sound), and a bunch of other goodies....I bought this one for my wife for XMas.

Its super easy to get pictures on the computer too, just install the software and keep the USB cable in the computer, wana put the pictures on, just plug in, and turn camera on and its done....

Jerry, SMART CHOICE ON THE CANON! I bought the same model around November and havent had one complaint since. The fact that the video has sound is super sweet. Thats just my 2 cents.

I have been looking around so far I like this fugi digital camera the best.
some specs:
6x optical & 3.2x digital zoom
200 seconds of motion video w/ sound
usb interface
4 shooting modes (auto, manual, scene postion, movie)
estmate price $400
anyone know about it? Good or not?
I also like the canon and olympus cameras.
