Speed Race Day just did a great interview with RG and they mentioned the All Star Race. They also showed a bunch of fans waving "VOTE FOR ROBBY" T-Shirts.

i think the whole vote a driver in is bs.all that is is a popularity contest.that is not what the race is about. it's about winners. plain and simple.

if your fav driver wasn't good enough to win a race, sorry he doesn't derserve to be in.

it's a fun event and pays well for what it is. one big dash for cash.

On Nascar's website they have a banner for rally for Robby. Looks like JB is stepping up again.

sure it's bs. kenny f--kin' wallace got in last year because they shamelessly pimped the guy on race day or whatever the shows name is. it worked like a charm. most pavement race fans seem to be brain dead. not all of em'. just most of them. if rg does'nt make it, who cares?

also, if it's a mad dash for cash, he could screw up a good car. i do admit that this kinda racin' suits our boy to a tee. gas on.

how the h-ll could they verify the voting? does anyone really think that if the vote were remotely close, that nascar would give the spot to our amigo? like they do him favors all the time, right? quack.

if i need to clarify it for you then............me? i'm just a casual observer. no offense intended to any casual observers here on RACE-DEZERT. com that also may like nascar as well. and, i'm sorry, but i don't lump well into anyones' group.

hey PMAZZ. i meant nothing personal by it and i'm not interested in getting into an internet squabble over nothing, but i will say that anybody that voted for kenny wallace for anything is brain dead.

How many of you would be intrested in having a Robby vote night. I am propossing that we get together Thursday night (online) and everyone vote for Robby at least 1000 times. I know it is a lot of time to do something like this but it would be great to see Robby get some good press and show the masses Robby has a strong fan base.

I get the feeling that as part of the $150,000 dollar fine, he is going to be "voted" into the All Star Race.

you mean sort of a "sorry, we'll make it up to you" kind of deal?you can't be serious michael. to nascar, rg is that turd that won't flush, that horsefly that lands right in the middle of your back, that mother in law that won't die. but i know for certain that major league umpires have "repayed " players for blowing calls in earlier games so you never know.

Yes, silly, I know, but I am sort of serious. The way Beam is stepping up with these banners on NOL, the kind of public marketing I've NEVER seen for RG, even more than when he last ran the double. Maybe its just a cheap little kicker ad for them to get some good return on investment, since they saw how well the "Rally for Robby" stuff went. I dont necessarily think there doing it to repay RG per se, but more so for the sponsors they've inadvertantly riled up.

Do you guys really think RG has enough new fanbase this year to vote him in otherwise? Its possible, but there are some big names on that list.

What I was saying is if we have 40 members who are willing to vote 1000 times that would be 40,000 and at least give Robby a chance to get in.

I hear what your sayin Ron, but whats to stop the computer savvy from running some kinda program that votes a million times an hour a la "Flys Machine" ?

All I'm sayin is that there really has to be more to it than just mouse clicks.

Man... is 2008 the year of the conspiracy theory or what?

Robby's Allstargate, bajagate, naughtongate... whats next??

He's already got one. It's over on the upRising, and folks have been using it.

If you need to "log on" after "registering", then there is a limit to voting. They just might let the Brain-dead people too waste there time trying to vote more than once...:D

Yup, we don't find out until the qualifying race is finished.

Not be negative, but I'm sure Elliot Sadler will get it since Jr. casted his vote on Track side. Plus with DW reminding everyone who Jr voted for didn't help either

To be honest, I think this voting somebody in is lame. Race it in, or get a win during the season, that is how it should be IMO

Anybody watch This Week in Nascar last night? I expected POS to be constantly plugging himself to be voted into the race but it didn't happen very much. Do you think Nascar told Speed not to allow the drivers to use their media outlets in this way? Otherwise, POS would have been all over it.

I think that Kenny Wallace being voted into the race last year was an embarrassment for Nascar because he's a terrible driver but he took advantage of his media outlets (which other drivers don't have access to) and got his talentless azz in the race.

I quit watching the show after the first two races this season. I hate the new format and liked it better with Dave Despain and Kenny Schrader on the show!

I really like Schrader! He is still a good driver too! If he was still in Hendrick equipment I think he would still be contending for wins!!!:D

I just got an email from Robot Uprising saying Robby is currently third in voting behind Kahne and Sadler. Im still in disbelief how quickly Darrell Waltrip mentioned Dale Jr. would be voting for Sadler after one of his co-announcers pointed out the "vote for Robby" campaign.

To be honest though, Robby should finish in the top 2 of that race, and the vote will not be necessary. I mean no Roush cars (besides Ragan, haha), no Hendrick cars, no Childress cars, etc. Look at this entry list:

#00-David Reutimann, TBA Toyota
#01-Regan Smith, The Principal Financial Group/DEI Chevrolet
#6-David Ragan, AAA Insurance Ford
#7-Robby Gordon, TBA Dodge
#08-Tony Raines, FUBAR Dodge
#9-Kasey Kahne, Budweiser Dodge
#10-Patrick Carpentier, Charter Dodge
#15-Paul Menard, Menards / Johns Manville Chevrolet
#19-Elliott Sadler, Stanley Dodge
#21-Bill Elliott, U.S. Air Force Ford
#22-Dave Blaney, Caterpillar Toyota
#28-Travis Kvapil, Yates Racing Ford
#34-Jeff Green, TBA Chevrolet
#37-Kenny Wallace, TBA Chevrolet
#38-David Gilliland, FreeCreditReport.com
#40-Dario Franchitti, Dodge Challenger Dodge
#41-Reed Sorenson, Target Dodge
#45-Kyle Petty, Coca-Cola Dodge
#46-Carl Long, Romeo Guest Construction Dodge
#49-Chad McCumbee, Marathon American Spirit Motor Oil Toyota
#50-Stanton Barrett, NOS Energy Drink-SKI-SBM Chevrolet
#55-Michael Waltrip, NAPA Auto Parts Toyota
#66-Scott Riggs, Haas Automation Chevrolet
#70-Johnny Sauter, Haas Automation Chevrolet
#77-Sam Hornish Jr, Mobil 1 Dodge
#78-Joe Nemechek, Furniture Row Chevrolet
#83-Brian Vickers, Red Bull Toyota
#84-AJ Allmendinger, Red Bull Toyota
#96-J.J. Yeley, DLP HDTV Toyota

He should finish top 2, especially after a good test. We shall see...

It takes about a minute to vote 20 times. If everyone put in another 100 votes h may not need to drive his way in. It would look really good though to get voted in, and drive in.
