So now that there is 1 race in the books, what's everyone's thoughts on this new class? I see there's only 3 trucks right now, anyone know of any other trucks that are going to be raced any time soon? What is the lap times compared to the Pro 2's and Pro Lites for that matter?
Seems like no one wants to talk about them lately.....

WOW that is impressive. Too bad they make you add 450 lbs to your truck Ross, you would be even closer to the P2 times. I wonder what CORR's reaction will be when a spec truck gets a podium???

Wont happen.
Yea getting onto the podium is going to be very tough, at almost 2 seconds a lap slower you are talking over 20 seconds behind third place, that is almost 1/3 of a lap at the checker if they throw the yellow at half way. That is a HUGE amount of time to make up! Kevin looked good and I am sure he will get quicker but so will all the Pro 2 guys to even it out.

The spec wont get a podium on outright speed, I agree. But.....you have the mandatory yellow which erases any lead built up as long as the pro spec stays on the lead lap. Then all it takes is a crash or a couple of mechanical failures and you could easily see a spec in the top 3 especially on a short slippery track. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

I think this class is great for someone who wants to step it up.. but doesnt have the sponsor backing to compete with the big dogs.. the SPEC-2 motor is a third of the cost.. and wear & tear on the tranny, rearend, tires, etc.. is also cut down.. so pro-2 becomes affordable.. and a starting point for new-upcoming teams as well.. I hope SPEC-2 continues to grow as all the other CORR classes, when it comes to the lap times.. and race performance I think as these teams get more "in tune" with their trucks, both driver and crews, we will see some good numbers and some awesome side by side racing from these guys.. time will tell..:D:D

with the current CORR pro-2 lineup i doubt we'll ever see a spec truck on the podium but top 10 will be easy and top 5 is possible.
look for better results out of both Suspensions Unlimited pro-specs this weekend, both trucks have been dynoed and are now running great! 88s & 18s
pro-spec is PERFECT for someone that wants to build a new pro-2 program, EVERYTHING can be carried up to pro-2, you could even use the engine as a back up.

in the record setting 28 truck pro-2 field today all 3 spec trucks finished on the lead lap of the 19 lap carnage fest (17 total finishers on lead lap)
i won pro-spec and finished 11th overall, kevin davis was second and 13th overall, brian cotham finished third and 16th overall. the pro-spec trucks really showed their stuff today!
i spent 6 or 7 laps racing bumper to bumper with mark jenkins in the traxxus pro-2, mark ran well for a rookie and i raced the wheels off my truck passing him with 325 hp less! its a shame this will never see TV, if anybody has video of it i'll throw some money your way to get it!

as shown by the results the engine does a pretty good job with the weight. i was really shocked the first time i drove it. personally i think the pro-specs should weigh 3900 or 4000lbs.

all 3 pro-specs finished both races and finished on the lead lap. racing with the guys in the back of the pro-2 field makes this an incredible accomplishment!! i qualified 18th sunday but had to start last because my spotter stayed at the tree bar too long, i survived the race and made it to the first pro-spec position, 2 for 2 this weekend!

Sorry Ross, i didn't get any good footage of you in that race. There are only a few instances where you can be seen ahead of Mike. But you're in motion so it's difficult to tell.
