The two development drivers for Gibbs are Marc Davis and Joey Lagano. Marc finished 2nd to Ickler this weekend. Brian's team is owned by the Icklers.

The article said he held off JGR development driver...

And it is his family owned team so, while someone needs to sign him soon I don't think he is a development driver for a big team yet... Maybe Andy will chime in and clarify things.

I believe Andy also said something about Brian doing some test or practice laps in RGs Cup car so maybe BI will be a Nationwide or 2nd Cup team driver for RGM at some point in the future...

PURE speculation on my part but the kid has tallent and desert roots so RG would be a great mentor for him.

That's awesome for Brian! Wasn't he racing for Bruce McNalley (sp) over here on the west coast? which is a Richard Childress Racing affiliate. He still runs a chevy, so might he be getting any assistance by RCR?

Yes Brian was racing for Bill McAnally (BMR). BMR is now racing Toyota's. I dont know much more then that, but I would assume his ties to RCR are over. I believe El Cajon local, Austin Cameron is driving for BMR again.
