Anyone use it? What a great idea! I wish I had thought to send care packages to our troops sooner. There are a ton of requests for the simplest things. Many of which most of us have stocks of at home.
I plan on sending what I can through the website, but what led me to search for this was the fact that I've got several years worth of Off-Road and DirtSports magazines just sitting in my closet. Someone here or on DR mentioned that they send they're old magazines to the troops & I thought it was a cool idea.
I'm going to read through the requests to find someone interested in these, but if anyone here has a friend or loved one in service that you know would like these, give me the exact address to ship to and I'll get them boxed up and shipped out.
This is the first time I've done this, so if anyone can offer advice it would be appreciated.

My daughter did it last year at Christmas and she just sent 8 more boxes over. She is 11 and loves doing this kind of thing. She does it for the pure enjoyment and her teachers started giving her extra credit for it. Every once in a while I throw in a couple of back issues of Maxim for the guys.
The only advice I have is to send boxes as soon as you know where they are stationed. They get moved around and might not receive what they requested. I am sure whoever gets the boxes will be happy.

Oh yea, use the Flat Rate boxes from USPS, they ship anywhere for a little over $8.00 regardless of the weight.

Will do. The website says the same thing. Thanks!

Sounds like a nice thing to do, I checked out the website earlier today at work, but I think my trouble is choosing someone to send to, there are so many, I want to send to someone who will appreciate it.

Good site and good cause.
There are also those that offer much needed assistance for our wounded heroes.

I meant someone who doesn't receive things all the time, I know they will all appreciate it, that came out wrong!

I'm lookin' for a hott one. bahaha
Well I picked out two .. One is a Unit from CA and the other is a guy who was stationed in Japan and is now in Iraq.
I am going to send them some offroad stuff .... They have to get bored of the usual Maxim and whatever else.. so I'll just put something together and I am sure they will love it!

Awww don't feel lame ... I was just putting myself into their position and I thought ya know.. If some random person was writing me, it would be neat to see what they are into ... so that's what I am basing it on. I am sending them the items they requested - beef jerky, granola bars, sweet treats, magazines, letters... they left it VERYYYY broad. So I am going to use my creative lil brain and put it all together!

Thank you all for doing this. Your care packages are much appreciated, and often friendships are established. I still keep in touch with people who sent me packages on my two prior deployments. Going on my third later this year and know I will be well supported.
