One of the biggest racing weekends of the year. Who is everyone pulling for in the 500? I'll take Marco.

I was out at the track on bump day and Dan Wheldon and Hilo were looking pretty strong. But I half to agree with Kaw500.
I think the Devil(Penske) will get the checker

I look for the win to come from pit strategy and the winner will likely come from AGR, Penske or Ganassi...

I'll go with Penske, but honestly I haven't watched or cared much about the 500 since 1996.

While I am rooting for AGR, I think a Ganassi car will win.

Should be fun to watch, I'll be in Vegas all weekend. And Yes, I am putting $ on RG to win on Sunday.

A Danica hater huh. Thats Ok with me. I am not so sure her talent would have carried her as far as her female status has.

LOL I dont think you have to worry too much about her winning or even getting on the podium.

I have worked and still have ties in the racing industry, including friends who work for Pi research which does the telemetry for the IRL. She is an awful person to work with. This is not a male/female thing with me. Its the stupidity that she spews from her mouth.

I am going to laugh if she does. But I know all of the female racer haters will have an excuse if she does get on the podium......Because we all know it could not be talent:rolleyes:

It has nothing to do with her gender, its her lack of talent at that level.

well.. I think one of the chicks needs to get a podium at the 500 someday.. it will be good PR for the sport

I would much rather see Sara Fisher push her car around the track then see Danica finish on the podium

Bricoop

SO I put down 5 on RHR and Marco. We'll see how it goes.

I think Penske has it in the bag. Everytime they go to Indy they are always on their game and ready for the win, they are always there at the end of the day. Ganassi drivers have a good shot but i dont think they will be there at the end of the day. If Danica doesnt crash, she will be top 5. If Graham Rahals equipment is good all day, he will be on the podium.

One of the guys on my team Matt Niles works for HPD and I usually root for whoever he is specifically working with at the race. Honda supplies all the engines now but it’s always nice to root for someone you know personally. Matt has worked with HPD for many years so I have had to change hats quite a few times and also I have had to hold my nose in the stink position…

This year he is working with Sarah Fisher and I am so stoked because I have always been a Sara Fisher fan. I have watched her race over the years and I really think she is a real racer and from what Matt tells me she is a real person too.

Her program is racer based and just making the show has just covered cost and for the team that was huge because they did not have a firm sponsor going into the deal.

Good luck Matt and Sarah!

See a pic of Matt here.

Does ABC think Danica is the only one in the race? I've only been watching for 1/2 hour and 29 of those minutes were from her onboard

I guess Kanan thought Marco should have backed out. Marco had a run thats for sure.

I'm still think Helio and the Penske team will have something to say before its over.

Well that was fun lots of good stories. Bay Area boy Towsend Bell 10th. Little Panther racing 2nd. Ed Carpenter great run. From the pole cograts to Scott Dixon.

Short break then Monaco replay on SPEED at 2:00 and then we will change threads and the 600 begins about 2:30.

What I saw in the race was alot of rookie mistakes. Danica ran a pretty good race till she got taken out. Marco was there all the way(was rooting for him). Scott Dixon did a great job, congrats to his crew and sponsors.

How about Vitor Meira, he and Ed Carpenter. Vitor has had good runs in the past. One of the big teams should really take a shot with him. Dixon drove a great race. Danica would have probably been top 6 or 5, she had a push in 1 and wanted more speed. A shame to be taken out in the pits by another driver. Marco has some beers to buy for TK.......Hind site being 20/20, RG should have raced Indy today instead of blowing up at the 600.
