A furious Patrick then got out of her car and walked purposefully toward Briscoe’s pit for what was shaping up as a confrontation with his crew. She removed her gloves and seemed ready to rumble before track security personnel directed her back to her own pit area.

“I was ready to take it all off, my helmet and everything—because it’s hard to talk through the helmet,” Patrick said. “It’s probably a better idea that I didn’t make it all the way down there anyway because, well, as you guys know, I’m a little emotional.”

Patrick said she was waiting for Briscoe to come talk to her about the incident. After watching a replay, Briscoe seemed convinced that Patrick had plenty of room to move over and didn’t seem willing to offer an apology.

Patrick’s near-rumble was perhaps the race’s most memorable moments, but it was hardly the only spectacle at Indy this year.

Her tantrum proves my point. She is a moron. Her team-mate had a much more questionable thing happen (Kanaan) and even though he was dejected because he ACTUALLY had a car to win, he remained even tempered. Danica is going to turn into the laighing stock of motor sports, if she hasnt already.

And for the record, Briscoe messed up, but Danica could have slowed down on pit road, and she had some room to the right. (not a lot, might still have had contact) She turned a "racing deal" into a hissy fit. Sad.

I'm so bummed that she got bumped into and taken out of the race. She's a tough little cookie. She was kicking butt up till that point. Total bummer.

Briscoe's an idiot - totally and completey his fault. Danica actually did move over a little bit. You can see that in the replays. I bet if he had hit another male racer, he wouldn't be wanting an apology from him. Give me a break. :rolleyes: It's always ok for 2 guys to throw blows and yell at each other, but I guess it's not ok for Danica (another human) to get ticked off? I'd be just as furious but my helmet would have been off a lot quicker!

I'll just add on... I don't particularly care for Danica, but I do respect her and admire her for how hard she is working in an all-male sport. It's got to be tough. She constantly has to be on the defense just because of the fact she is a woman. That is what is sad!

Its ok for people to get mad, but to see her throw her childish tantrums is ridiculous. Compare her reaction to Tony Kanaans, who actually had the car and the skill to win that race and got pushed into the marbles by a teammate. My issue has nothing to do with her gender, just her attitude. For the record, many of her sponsors are paying big bucks for her ride BECAUSE she is female.
