Basicly go to Puertecitos and drive thru the no tresspassing sign. You will see a dirt road that heads up a hill, take that and you are on your way. Stay on the main road(if you want to call it that) and sometime, depending on your vehicle you will run into Gonzaga Bay. Can't miss it.

I have a stock 4X4 truck, and I drive pretty mellow. Is this going to be a 2-3 hour trip or more?

More, depending on how much damage you want to do to your truck. Make sure you have really heavy duty tires or bring lots of spares.

all the above. make sure you lash down everything. when you finally make it down to gonzaga and everything on your rig still works, say a silent prayer and thank your god that you did'nt have to drive the road 15 or twenty years ago when it was nearly impassible. basic road building skills were not only required, but demanded. it was the three sisters road back in the day and at one time was described in arizona highways as the toughest traveled road in north america. take it easy. get out and check your ride every now and then. have fun. it's well worth it.
