If you have the insurance on it, most cell providers want you to report to the police or sheriff, whichever. Most departments will take the information over the phone and give you an incident/report#. Give that number to AT&T when you report it lost.
Also if you still have your original paperwork, your serial# for the phone might be on it. If you have it, give to the officer or deputy so it can be entered as lost property.

Unfortunately, i dont have insurance on it and its an iphone...from what i have found out so far, it looks as though i get to buy another one. I dont really want to spend the $400 on a new one again.

I was under the understanding when I got my iPhone that if it was lost/stolen it can not be replaced via insurance, etc. Good luck and keep us other iPhone owners updated on the outcome!!

I know how you feel. I'm on my second one too but that's due to my own fault. I was mad and that was the first thing that I could grab to throw at the wall. The phone still works but the glass is all cracked. $400.00 latter I'm talking on a new or (ouch) . I would check ebay for a replacement.

Yeah iPhone doesn't have insurance, but you can go through outside companies to get insurance. If you could switch numbers on iPhones I'd let you buy mine off me, I freakin' hate the thing. It's too expensive for me.

AT&T insurance is a good thing...I have the wifey's phone insured at 3$ a month or something like that. She dropped it and broke it beyond repair last week. I called it in and there was an upgraded phone in my hand the next morning from the DHL guy. They even gave me the tape to seal the box for the broken phone. Money well spent!

Flip phones are way better to throw. If you open them first, they come back to you like a boomerang.:D

Did you buy it with a Credit Card? I know some cards offer their own insurance for theft/loss, etc. This may be an option for you.

My carrier Verizion offers free phones with a new two year plan. $400.00 is to much for a phone:eek:

Yes! I think so too. I think ATT sucks compared to verizon. Verizon sounds clear as a bell but ATT sounds fuzzy all the time

Alright, just got back from ATT store. I didnt have insurance, so i had to buy another phone. But i just got the cheapest one they had ($40). I didnt have to extend my contract or anything crazy like that, so all-in-all, not too bad. Although it will be bad once the new iphone comes out and i get that one (which i was going to do anyway).
