So, I was supposed to move to Poway (san diego) on saturday, and my future roommate decided today to back out. Does anyone know of any places out there that are somewhat affordable? I am looking for a one bedroom/one bath, or possibly a studio. Hopefully under $1k, but all I have been able to find are super expensive "luxury apartment homes." Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks everyone!

Sorry to hear that! I don't really know the area, but make sure what you are getting it worth the rent. Maybe you could try renting out someone's back house, if any are available. Who knows those, trying to find an apartment is tiring and hard. I've been there and done that, everything is expensive, and they are usually in the worst places! Good luck. If I hear of anything, I'll be sure to let you know. As for you ex roomate (lol) that's lame!

Poway and RB rents shave been more expensive since the October fires. Try the next couple of towns over and look in Esco or San Marcos. If you want to get away try Vallley Center. There are a lot of guest houses for rent in that area. Craigslist or North County Times. If you have to commute south on the I-15 in the Am, your screwed!. Thats why I moved.

Yea, i work in Poway and right now live in El Cajon. Its not all that fun having to spend a good $500 on gas a month, thats why I am looking at poway. =(, if push comes to shove, i will be looking out further though
