There's a good NOFX song on ribbed dealing w/ driving. There's also a good TSOL song I'd love to here on a video. Plus I've never hear the "road rage" offspring song on a video. Anything fast and loud (most punk) does it for me. Steve

I will be using Offspring - Bad Habit in my Wild Wash video because it will fit perfectly for the nerfing and carnage that is going to be insued.

Little Nuts - I screwed up last week too. I am pretty sure the Iron Maiden song is called "Run To The Hills." That is a great choice though.

How about Bad Religion, Pennywise, NoFX, AFI, and all those guys, I like punk in my videos. How about some Ramons for the old school? Or The Descendants? ACEofSPADES, no offense at all, but what's with all of the metal man? I listen to Metallica, that's is about it for metal. I agree, something with breaks in the song to give it that dramatic effect.
My favorite three songs for dirt videos are all in Dezert People...... The first song after the intro where it starts off with the Camburg buggy, the one by The Strange that starts off with Damon Jeffries and goes into United Prerunners and then WFODAN, and the very last one called Purchase is a Program by The Line which is my favorite out of all of those.

I personally think there is not enough hard music in offroad videos, I think there is too much 'punk' I guess I can see using a typical punk song for a long whoop section, but whan you got guys on the gas and hitting stuff hard, you want hard music, no offense to punk bands, but alot of them are a dime a dozen, but the same can be said about any genre of music.
Thats just my opinion, I may be wrong.

Sammy Hager, back in his solo dayz, did a little number called "There's only one way to rock". That is my own personal anthem. As far as instrumental stuff, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani play guitar like RG drives a truck........... Nothing better........... Modern stuff, Disturbed's song, "Prayer", says it best, {"Living just isn't hard enough, burn me alive inside"...** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**

I like the punk in the videos, but that's what I normally listen to. A new one just came to mind - it's one of my favorite Social D songs - "sick boy" - that could be SWEET in a vid. Steve

T - I'm sure many of the "younger" rdc freaks in here might not remember Sammy even being on his own before VH. It kind of dates me and I'm sure others on here.
Here are some more "old school" suggestions:
My Very Hard choices (for those bitchen whoop shots) = Pantera - "F@cking Hostile" and "By Demons be Driven", Slayer - "South of Heaven".
My Glam choices = Motley Crue - "Kickstart My Heart", Skid Row - "Slave to the Grind".
My Grunge choices are = Soundgarden - "Rusty Cage", Nirvana - Come As You Are (for the slow mo shots).
And for those unfortunate crashes, I have always liked the song "Ragdoll" by Soak that is in the original Crusty video.
[b]Trivia time - Does anyone remember the band Sammy was in BEFORE he had his previously mentioned solo career???[b/] Answer to come...

Screw Metallica! Those guys are such hypocrites! They were the primary proponents of getting Napster shut down, yet if you have ever seen their "Behind The Music", you will hear them say that they got "big" by having the hard core metal heads distribute boot legged tapes of their music at concerts. Thats the same thing that Napster does/did.....gets music to the people.
See ya in the dirt!

Two more possibly easy ones:
Who was the original singer of Metallica?
What band was Henry Rollins in before he went solo?

Props to whoever mentioned Iced Earth, but for my money, In Flames rules the Swedish metal genre, I would also love to see anything from Good Riddance on a dez video. anything off their "Symptoms" album is great. I can think of a few Motley Crue tunes that would be appropriate also.

Robert, sounds like you are an old hesian like myself.
Here are two that you will probably know so give the younger flat-billers [j/k] a chance.
What guitarist replaced Randy Rhoads (after his death) for Ozzy and what year was it?
What band did Jason Newstead play for before Metallica?

Manic Hispanic ROCKS - so does propagandhi and pulley, the white caps - man could I go on.
BajaWaldo - here's some trivia for you...
Who did Henry Rollins Replace as the lead singer in Black Flag?
The band Rancid was formed by former members of "_____" (hint the only one that didn't make the move to rancid was Jesse)
Another question for the rest - Sid Viscious or Johnny Rotten???
elcaprerunner

SpareChange-"Sid Viscious or Johnny Rotten???"............. Joey Ramone.....haha
ACE- I am down with the old school stuff man, I listen to Styx and Eagles all of the time, in fact I predict we will be listening to them on the way to Laughlin on Friday......haha.... I don't mind metal when it is in videos, but I am a punk man myself, Metallica is really the only thing I can actually listen to when it is not in a video. There is one metal song that is great for vids, it the one by Disturbed, I forgot what it is called but it was awesome "Seth-Hard Way" and also in Fish's video of the UP Jump Contest.

Spare dude - There were actually two different singers before Rollins. The first one (Keith Morris) left and formed a different band...any guesses? I don't remember the singer's name right before Henry but it was a weird name.
It's funny you bring up Rancid, they are a sweet OC band. I didn't know the answer so I went searching and found out many things. Here are a few:
Lars has produced CD's for the Swinging Utters.
Billy Joe of "Greenday" was in Rancid but only played one show.
And both Tim and Brett are left handed.

better search a little more, rancid is from the san jose area , not oc. black flag---- are you refering to chavo or dez? keith went on to the circle jerks.
songs for racing videos, theres alot out there. but when it goes to rap, hip-hop, funk whatever you want to call it whether its limp bizkit, eminem,or
tupac i just turn the volume down.oh-yeah the rancid question---- operation ivy.
Waldo
January 15th, 2003, 15:38
Ooops! You're right, don't know where that came from. Just read they were formed in Berkley in '91.
Keith formed the Circle Jerks and Chavo was the name I was thinking of. Rollins replaced him.

Good answers guys. Keith Morris was the name I was looking for, but even better finding Chavo!
Operation Ivy is the band that became Rancid.
Billy Joe from green day was best friends w/ all the guys from Rancid - heck they even gave each other the tattoos across the knuckles. Wanna guess what the tattoo says....
Not too hard to figure this one out so I'll give the rest the answer - PUNK
