Good price??????????? And to say it won ? It did, but look at its lap times ,that thing wouldnt of even got top 3 in class 1.. Not taking anything from tatum, its a nice ride, but its a tatum dunebuggy with a body. if somebody buys it for 245, wow!!!! I guess Jimco should put a body on there class one cars and get an extra 50,000$ Just my thought. HE should race it one more time ,just to show it was no fluke.

You're right it is just a class 1 with a truck body. maybe you should ask around and see what other companies are getting for class 1 cars with truck body's. I know ours was more then 245K...Either way it won, no one can take that a way, lap times or not.

OK, now I'm about to show my NEWBEYNESS but... what on that truck costs 245k? I know that it has a complete tube chassis frame and a killer engine and stuff, but aren't most of the parts fabricated (suspension, chassis, cage..etc) by Tatum or some of there close shops? It's just hard to believe that steel, aluminum, motor, and wheels and tires cost that much. I just can't imagine the kind of truck that I could build if given 245k. maybe a titanuim truck:)

I am not justifying the cost, but when buying a racecar brand new or having one built you need to figure in the labor of everything built and also the knowledge and reputation of the company that built it. Jimco's are expensive because you know damn well that Mike Julson knows what he's doing.

I am not beating you up but, Have you priced out a TT? $245k doesn't get you much in a new one. Maybe just a roller from Geisers or SPD; Maybe. You can not compare these to anything becasue there are only a few builders making them. Is it worth 245k, sure it is to the person who buys it.

you would be surprised my friend..... just labor alone will make your face turn blue.... yeah its metal.... but its transformed into a desert eating beast:D some 12 cars are in $80,000- 100,000 range!!! and thats a 1835cc Vw motor with limited suspension and a beam front end :) u get what u pay for man... for 245k for something like that is really good

I believe this is John Marking's old class one which was bought by Chet Huffman and transferred over to a Trophy Truck. If it is, not only is the car/truck fast it also has a class one championship under it's belt.

Land, concrte and lumber don't add up to 300-400K for a track home, but people pay that and much, much more for a house.
If you can afford that kind of coin for a desert toy or race car, I don't think that money is much of an issue.

It's my understanding that Purchasing a class1 or TT for 245k is the cheap part. Try keeping one running for a few years and being competitive on top of that.

This is a big problem that I know a lot of the Ferrari and Lambo owners have. They get some money in the bank and want to buy something that makes them look cool, but what they don't understand is that those vehicles aren't really made to drive every day of the week. Because if you do then you have to keep up with there riggorous maintenance schedule. I think that Ferrari's have to have there engine removed and inspected every 20-30k miles. That alone will cost you about 20k. I can see though I guess about the price. If your serious about your sport then nothing is to much. I'm just glad that I know how to weld :)

Correct, it will cost way more to race a TT, especially in SCORE

The initial purchase is the easy part.
