I would say everyone is still recovering from last nights party....

I talked to my crew last night (1249 and 1608) and they all had a good pre-run. They said the first half of the course was in pretty good shape and the dry lake isn't as bad as it was in 2005. The second half they said is fun, except for that section between RM 370 and RM 400. Could be a parking lot for the lower classes. When I talked to them they were prepping to pre-run down town and hit all of the check points...Foxy's, Paris, Anthony's, etc. They all chipped in and bought the new PCI 'Adam's Apple' detector from the race trailer. When I hear from them today I will report on how it worked...heaven help them if it didn't!

I am surprised with the lack of info we are hearing and seeing about contingency and the 500 in general. Is there that many people who have decided not to go down this year? Look at the past Baja 500's and there are multible threads going. Here there are only 11 posts and its 10:15pm on Fraday after contingency.

The trophy trucks won't go off of the line for a while and IRC is telling everyone to hot wire their units :eek: directly to their batteries and thus everyone will have them unplugged until race time...so you won't see many...if any until around 9 PDT.

maybe they didn't paid the irc on time,. irc had a time limit to be able to be shown live on irc, so, that's what i read like 2 weeks ago,. you had to submit your order prior to june 25 or so,. or you wont be shown live the day of the race :eek::eek:

For an instant, WM said something about 1x down but he didn't say anything else. It's probably not true. My tracker also shows 8x way ahead but I've been having issues all morning with the tracker.

That section that they are in now can be a tad gnarley...between Tres Hermanos and El Alamo. The sand turns to nasty silt then you do a pretty steep hill climb and ridge run to El Alamo. But it would be a blast on a bike. It will be torn to crap by the time the lower classes get there.

Yes K77 is just past RM 80, at the road crossing and yes it is the booby trap area.

Mom fell last week and received a partial hip replacement. I had to stick around and get her into a skilled nursing facility yesterday evening and monitor her thru the weekend. I'm the only child so I've got the family duties.

Cars good but in hiding :) we raced the MDR race in barstow and we were first in class and like 3 or 4th over all and the right front spring carrier shock shaft broke... so we DNF'ed and had some heavy damage on the car..... shocks are with joel at Bilstein Motors going to fat and the trans is at folts.. the car is getting better..... plus my dad just got diagnosed with a golf ball sized brain tumor... so he just started radiation treatment this week and is pushing to get back in the car.. the doctor cleared him to co ride :) but other than that its good.. we arnt gonna let this whole tumor thing slow us down..... my friend is gonna co ride for a while we were shooting for V2R... but who knows at this point.. we should be back in action within the next 1-2 months
