KOH 2009 - Registration Information

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're nine months away from the 2009 running of the King of the Hammers. The race will be held on Friday Februrary 20th, 2009 in the Johnson Valley OHV area. As always, the course map will not be released until the week of the race.

We have been working out the 'qualifying' process and it's time to unveil it to the public. The Media based event is invite only and a limited number of spaces are avalible per our agreements with the Barstow field office of the BLM.

All entrants, even those with automatic invites, must submit their application no later than July 11th, 2008.

There are several methods to secure entry.

Performance

As always, the original racers (The OG 13) that came out for the 'first' test in '07 will always be invited back.

In addition, the top 10 from the previous year have secured a spot.

The other way to secure your entry via performance is by winning series championships in WeRock, XRRA, SCORE, and CORR.

Marketing

KOH has been based on giving race teams an opportunity to promote themselves and their sponsors. We will continue that drive to involve as much media as possible and expand our marketing partnerships. As such:

All major media partners will be extended an invite to do with as they wish.

Media outlets such as print or web based should contact Hammerking productions with a marketing plan to obtain an entry.

A comprehensive partnership plan has been developed to reward marketing partners with the opportunity to go racing. There will be a limited number of spots available and a couple have already been taken. If you are interested please contact Jeff or Dave at Info@Kingofthehammers.com

Fan Vote: We don't have the method of voting hammered out yet, but the top 5 race teams as voted by the fans will be on the starting line. To be eligible for the vote, you also must submit an application by 7/11/08

Merit

In what I'm confident is unique to this race, we extended one invitation to a volunteer from the '08 race. That group got together, and after significant lobbying and campaigning... Brandon Naves (Im4Yotas) was voted by his peers to represent them in the '09 race. Good luck Brandon.

At Large Invite: There will be 20+ spots available to the teams that best exemplify the spirit of KOH. Whether it's the badass local guy or the consumate professional team. We will weed through all of the applications to find the teams that round out our field in the best way. Your application is your voice. Send us the information that you believe sets your team apart from your competition.

Thank you for your support of this unique marrige of offroad racing. 2009 will include an expanded race course, and additional logistical challenges. 4 wheel drive is required for this race.
