Yes, this thread is reaching into the future, but lets face it; as Robby Gordon fans Sonoma and the Glen are our Superbowls.

Ill keep this brief as a first post, but is anyone else concerned the Dodge cars seem to be getting worse fuel mileage than the other makes? I would hate to see a repeat of last year.

Hopefully Pocono and Michigan can create some decent momentum for the big weekend. Any news on the sponsor front? Last I heard Sonoma and Indy were open dates. (and if you look at RobbyGordon.com, theres a whole lot more open weekends as well)

Rumor has it that Robby has been spending time at the GEM shop helping with setup on the cars. I'd love to see how Carpentier does on the road course.

However, I will agree that Dodge has been struggling with gas mileage; or at least it seems.

Juantoya ran a dodge and he had the best fuel mileage of them all..... GEM and Dodge know what they are getting in RG on the road courses. They will make sure he is good. Ford was a different deal, Roush had a boner for RG for whatever reason and he had the worst mileage of all of the Fords. That guy seems to hold grudges. Do you actually think he is still pissed that RG chose open wheel over being a second car next to Mark Martin back in the day. Every time they interview that guy and ask about RG he always takes a dig at him

True, Im just basing my comments off the last few races in which they commented the Dodges have to stop 3-5 laps sooner than the other makes. I dont want to lose another fuel mileage race. To be honest though, Im not sure RG would have won even if it didnt come down to fuel mileage. Stewart passed him before pit stops and Robby never really moved up well in traffic.

Im just hoping this year is the year RGM puts it together.

there are a number of things that come into play when talking about mileage.
driver is responsible for some as well as engine staff.

How did I know you would come into this:D;) You are more experienced on this topic then anybody in here. While the driver does make a difference in regards to mileage, the engine/carburetor setup would make more of a difference.....Yes?

You would think. Also, wouldnt RG's driving style use more fuel. I hope not, but i have heard that a few times on past road races.

bingo, add that with options of tuning. you want the power set up or the mileage. which do you think he'd go with?

have you ever seen RG fall into a leading position by fuel mileage and take it to the end?

some are just smoother than others. back when i was working in the engine shop, if you read the race reports of all the teams, you saw who got what in terms of mpg and what their tune up was. it was interesting to say the least..
