Mark Miller, DeVilliers and others are getting a feel for what Brazil has to offer (and Runn Bailey is where?? Doing what?? preparing for??)...and from what the pics and videos show of Brazil it looks super sweet!! Unfortunately I don't speak Portugese, spanish or know how to get my browser to translate...but I think the pics speak for themselves....

YouTube - Rally dos Sertões
Rally Dos Sertoes, was really cool, 10 days, much more diffacult than we anticipated and had some great stage wins and good races with Giniel and Dirk. It was a FIA World Cup event this year instead of the Argentina rally because the Dakar will be in Argentina.

Nice video Mark Thanks for posting it!!!!
I noticed that the rear of the Touaregs is still kicking up pretty good on a lot of the jumps, are you guys working on something to help that? Is it just the nature of the beast with the short wheel base and the limited wheel travel?
Hey, did you see my articles on the Touaregs in DIESEL BUILDER????
I have posted the pdf of the Street Touareg article below:
And here is the link to the pdfs of the Race N Chase Touareg articles and the race coverage article from the Baja 500 last year...

If you haven't seen them yet take a look and tell me what you think...
Also PM me with your address and I'll mail you a couple...

i did see the articles, nice work. As for the kicking, it's a battle, it is always being developed. but it's not so easy with 10" of wheel travel. it's not just a simple matter of revalving the shocks. we are always working to get a proper solution and at the same time keep the speed, the precision etc.,

Hi guys.
I'm from Brazil and native portuguese speaker.
I saw those VWs. It's nothing 'impressive' .
I believe they came down here to be prepared to 'new dakar'.
Was easy winn. Usually we race Mits(junk) due to factory support.
And 90% in diesel motors, wheteaver fords, chevys....

I agree 100% with Aciasca, I'm from Brazil too, the "rally" cars here follow the european school, very few development on suspensions, unfortunately.
But we have some "homemade" exceptions, like this:
http://www.autoshow.com.br/upload/noticias/sert_20060719_02.jpg
"American concept" style, 250 hp diesel engine, Sway Away shocks, ounce I saw this car very close, it was very different what we usually see here, not very impressive, but a good beginning I think...more here: http://www.autoshow.com.br/noticias/noticias.asp?id=7967
And sorry about the poor english, Aciasca's english it's better than my!
