Dave the modelman sent me these photos of some die cast trucks which are supposed to be available at Walmart and other hobby shops in April. Thought you might want to see them.

Very cool looking. What scale are they, or approx. what size? They'd both make a nice addition to my desk at work....the more models on the desk, the less work I have to do!!!

Solo Motorsports is really sponsoring these models?? Wow, I am surprised because Solo is such a small shop. Anyway, thos things are ** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!** and I am going to buy both when they come out.

Forgot to ask, does the suspension really work like other die cast models of that size? PCI-Scott showed me a pic of his at contingency last Friday night, they look really cool.

Not sure on the price, maybe modelman might know, I'm sure if their going to be at Walmart, it shouldn't set you back much.

February 4th, 2003, 20:53
Scott said he will order 500-1000 of them to make sure people get them. Just like the ever elusive blue buggy that I still never found Wal-Mart can be very hit and miss with stuff like that. So I say support the sport and buy them from Scott @ PCI. Hell he will even sign it if you ask him. I know I am getting mine signed from him.

dave
February 4th, 2003, 20:57
Well they should be around $25.00 but who knows I picked up the first car they made for
only $12.00 or $14.00 at Wal-Mart .They do have working suspension and steering . I was told they should be in stores around April or may in some places even March. I will post the other two .

dave
February 4th, 2003, 21:03
The other one. Well what John said is true it's hit and miss but , if you can't get them in Wal-Mart
or Hobby People when they first come out Just give it time I'm sure you'll be able to get all of them
sooner or later. I know I'll be looking .

Mike is this Racer X just a mailorder off shoot of RaceReady Products? The site has nothing on it (as far as products)

Its been that way for a few months?

Mike_Cohen
February 5th, 2003, 14:48
No, it is my new company that specializes in manufacturing and distributing performance, communications, and safety equipment products as well as toys and collectibles. I will be leaving Race Ready Products to run Racer X Motorsports, Inc. full time. While I'll miss the day to day interactions of a retail operation, I am excited to pursue my dream of manufacturing and distributing
unique high quality products to many different customers / markets.

Sorry about the website content being stale. Between opening a new business, changing web designers and hosts, we have been working on completing the site as well as a color catalog / brochure.

If you have signed up for our mailing list, stay tuned as you will be receiving our catalog in the next 2 to 3 weeks as well as being notified of any and all web site changes and updates.

Thanks for your interest!

Best regards,

Anyone else pick up any of the 7s style diecasts from ToysRUs? We found them last night, leafspring rear, coil front, looks like a Cheyotatord. The back of the box displays about a dozen paint schemes, but we only found 3 so far. Just more to add to the collection...

I will work on some pics when I get home. Jr, I have a collection of matchbox/hotwheel size cars all set up to start a race...In starting order...Trophy trucks, Class 1, Class 8, Bajas...The big stuff just sits on the shelf. Some day, I will do an animated movie about a purple Baja winning overall kicking Robby's TT in the dirt!

I picked up a couple of the 7s style ones at Walmart when I was there looking for the TT model. I think they are called Dirt Wheels or something like that. All fenders and the cab can be removed. Very cool.

Like I said- A Chevoyotatord! They didn't have that one in stock. We got the green one and the Black one. What I want to know is who is buying these things before we do? Does this bode well for Offroad in the future? Does this mean there are kids out there whothink offroading is cool and they can't wait to do up their trucks this way? Just think....

The new Toyzone cars will not ship until early April, they have two new buggies that are a lot like the original, a Corr truck, and Trophy Truck #7. As stated they will be available at Walmart. I will also be getting my hands on some for resale. If you guys can find them at Walmart good luck, but if you want to help support Trophy Truck #7 I will have them for sale. I have started a list of everyone who wants them and I am up to 62 so far this is not including all the ones I will have to give up to family and team members that help me out. I will even drop down my John Hancock if anyone wants it. The price at Walmart will be around $20, I will be selling them for $24.95. All proceeds will help keep Trophy Truck #7 out on the track.

wal mart on beach/imperia has one left, #07, top left in the pic of the back of the box...i got #55, top/center...i just noticed that my bedsides are different than the one pictured...no flare...oh well....

i think modelman dave could redo one into a protruck, easy...... :)

DougM
February 22nd, 2003, 17:07
The WalMart here in Poway had 15 of them. $9.88 each. 4 different versions.

I got the flamed protruck version. I was going to pull off the cab and bedsides but there are like a zillion of the smallest screws Ive ever seen(think smaller then sunglass screws)
to take it apart. I'd loose them and it would drive me nuts..

just let it sit on the shelf and look nice.

dave
February 23rd, 2003, 11:56
Ok well It's not a Protruck... But I made some front fenders and put some piant to work...And this
is how it came out.

that's how they should look!
they're just beggin' for a spare tire on the back, aren't they? i was thinkin' of buying a second one, just to take a tire off it for a spare.....

dave
February 24th, 2003, 13:19
I was thinking about that to getting another for a tire, I found that tire in my box of model tires.. The wheel is a tad big but the tire is the same size...... They get the toys so close but yet they don't go all the way...

How's it going? Are you talking about the blue Schlesser Paris-Dakar buggy or another one? I got the Schlesser buggy at the Lancaster, TX Wal-Mart, but I haven't seen any other off-road racing models there.

Hope all is well up in Sherman. Take care neighbor!
