I had the impression a 091 tranny can be coupled to a Honda engine (reverse engine rotation) with just changing the R&P, I am correct?

well big problem. the ring and pinion on a bug gear box is a 10mm hypoid. that means the pinion is 10mm out of the center of the ring gear. so a simple flip of the ring gear to the other side can not be done. i am unaware of anyone making a reverse rotation ring and pinion. the only way we got it to half way work was to flip the gear box upside down. this brings in a whole new bunch of problems, the biggest being the pinion bearing is no longer covered in gear oil. :mad:we could not keep on alive in a sand car for more than a season. so i don't think that is the way you want to go. pbs makes a small gearbox that is able to be run reversed. that maybe the only way of doing it. unless someone can chime in with another idea.

Thanks for the response, I resist the idea of doing a mid engine car with to accommodate the Honda or turning the tranny upside down....lubrication is a must with Honda HP. Any one has a better solution for a 091?

This might seem like a stupid question but why cant you just run the motor in normal direction??? And how much hp are you talking??

Hondas tipically run in with a reverse rotation than any other motor, I will have 220 HP aprox

Why you think a 091 will hold up to a 220 Hp high rev'ing Honda is the real concern - won't happen.

Gustavo, my 3.2l (Acura TL) rotates "correctly". IIRC, the 4 cylinder is reverse.

Casey is the man for Honda/Acura...

Which honda motor are you trying to run???? If you are looking for a 4cyl honda that rotates correctly for the 091 you could go with a newer K-series motor. ;) Also all the j-series (v6) honda motors would work

It would work great for a mid-engine......

Great Advice;) I have forgotten that they are Honda experts......I am just weighting my options with a Honda Engine. They are so durable that I am hooked to their reliability...
Thanks DG, I will PM them for advice :D
