Hey happy desert people!

I was looking for some help with some ideas on fabing a sturdy pre-runner bumper for my '02 Nissan Xterra. I prefer something custom as opposed to a bolt on kit... which I've only found 1. If I hit something I don't want it to cave in on my engine.

So I've been looking through pictures of bumpers but haven't really found anything that looks strong and functional. I welcome any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, pictures, etc. I haven't found many shops that work with Nissans... mostly Toyota and Ford but I found a shop that will work with me if I show them what I want. :D

So I figure why not come to the experts ;)

Also if you have any other shop recommendations that work with Nissan that would be great!

You could try ECOR in Lakeside... It's a bit of drive, but PJ has got some amazing skills.

Build a custom bumper. If you need an idea of what would work, look at the total chaos web site. My old frontier is right here http://www.chaosfab.com/2wdfrontier.html

If you want to see something different, give me a few weeks. I'm getting started on the bumper on my new truck.

that's a really nice Frontier... is your bumper custom? Where did you have done at? I like the look... how is it mounted on? just 2 points on the frame?

Does total chaos make the long travel kit for 4x4?

thank you!

This is quite different then your regular prerunner bumpers...

but I think something similar would look cool on a Frontier.

That is a nice bumper... I had an ARB on it before and the weight really killed my shocks in the front... I kind of like this though because it's similar to the ARB but still has the pre runner look-Thanks!! :D

P.S. it would be on an Xterra.. but they are on the same frame ;)

That bumper was built by a friend and myself. We cut the frame horns and notched the frame to get the tubes to fit, then we plated the frame and blended it all smooth. That truck is now gone forever. Here is the Long travel 4WD kit also. http://www.chaosfab.com/91440.html

Ok ok you sucked me in with curiosity... so how do you know that bumper will take a hard front end hit ?

Also... how do I know if I have it made by some one else it will withstand the same impact?

:D

I don't need to say much. Just go to my site and look at my Xterra... www.TeamXterraRacing.com
