I have a JD2 model 3 bender. I want to make a bend coming right off another bend going into a different direction. My problem i have when i try it is the the hold down strap that holds the tubing to the main die will not be able to be pinned in. Is it even possible with this style bender? Do i have to maybe make a hold down strap that fits the shape i need it? Or do i have to bend it from the opposite direction if i can get it to clear the follower block? Any help is appreciated.

Pictures might help us figure it out, or at least help me get a picture of what you are trying to do.

It's probably two pieces sleeved together.

Order of the bends-make the center bend first

With 5.5 CLR die:
Cut tube length is 51", Put a tape measure on the tube a mark it at 17 1/4", 25", and 34 3/4". The 25" mark needs to be 180 deg (back side of the tube). Put it in the bender and bend 7 deg, rotate the tube 180 and bend the 2nd at 26 deg, re-rotate 180, and bend the 3rd at 7 deg. Notch at 47 15/16" and weld.

I forgot something, if you have a rotary draw type bender (105/model3) you will need you subtract 2" from those measurements. 15.25-23.0-32.75. Sorry about that. Those measurements are for a rotary compression bender.
