I would be willing to bet those uncounted posts were in the "Whatever" Section.... which no longer/currently doesn't count towards your post total....

The Whatever section has been disabled as counting toward your count post. That way your post count is more meaningful.

very nicely put Fish! It makes sense that since this is a desert racing website only posts that actually pertain to desert racing should count!! Especially considering the randomness of posts that occur in whatever!! :D

If the WTAR thread is the only one taking up too much space I could see shutting it down.
There a lot of other great threads in "Whatever" that dont deserve to be shut down. Why cant the WTAR thread be moved?
If all we posted here on RDC was about "desert racing" it would be a pretty lonely place.;);)

We don't mind the WTAR Thread. I personally don't follow it but I am sure its tons of fun for those that participate. To the people that don't like it "use the back button" if you accidentally land in it.
We removed post count credits for all of whatever because it can not be disabled for just one thread. The problem is that post count affects your seniority levels here and your reputation powers. Now if one would spend 400 posts in a thread that is nothing but quick "hello dialog" then your post count would jump high and would devalue the count of a person that spends 400 posts over 5 years posting detailed helpful content.
Hope that clears up any questions.

Who would have thought WTAR would change the face of the RDC world as we know it???
Seriously though, I'm with you Klaus, "Hi how are you" posts probably shouldn't count.
But have you ever tried a "post race"?? Even Curtis tried to win the last one:eek: which surprised the hell outta me! It's addicting!!! Try it!!!!!:D

Alot of members are for "taking back" posts in WTAR, since it became a problem, any thoughts on this???
Any way to delete thousands of posts???

if a member wants to take down their own post count they can PM Curtis or me and we'll adjust it. Not required nor encouraged. But since you ask and a member feels the need to have that done, we can do it.
Simply Pm with desired post count reduction.

Klaus, why wasn't it put back in the SITE section after it was moved a few times? Just a thought but wouldn't it make more sense to disable post counts in the SITE section and keep the WTAR thread there than disable the entire WHATEVER section?

I agree with that too. There are a lot of "quality" posts in the whatever. A lot of good info in there. I say move WTAR back here in the site section.

With all the discussion it gets and attention (good and bad) I beleive its worthy of its own category. Does it fit anywhere else?....Im just saying....:D:D:D
I know it has more active members than some of the other categories.....

Klaus got fourth or third the other day durring the thread lock drama. It was accidental I think but he did a lurker style podium finish. I was impressed.
