View Full Version : Class 7... to cut or not to cut the frame.

I'm building a 94 extra cab toyota and I'm unsure of weather I should cut the rear frame rails. The truck will have a four link, 9", 3.4 V6, uniball a-arm front suspension. I'd really like to get rid of them for bump travel. My score rulebook says you have to have a complete frame in Class 7? SNORE and BITD don't require this do they? Will I be legal in SCORE sportsman?

If I do keep the rear frame rails is it legal to pie cut them and move them up?

Cut the frame and run it in the new Score mini truck class.

SCORE sportsman is just an open non pro class. As long as you pass safety inspection you should be good to go. I don't think moving the rails up is legal. I know there has been a few discussions on here about 7 trucks that possibly have illegal frame mods.

What is the new SCORE mini-truck class? I have a current rule book that does not mention it.

SCORE rules need to be updated. Don't even bother with the frame rails from the factory-cut em' out.

What have I started? :)

I'd really like the truck to be legal in all series... If I decide to sell it, it will be worth slightly more.

So Justin? You work for Savage? What can you tell us about mini-trophy? Can I assume this is a 2011 class?

Call Bill savage and be sure. At the end of the day if anyone questions it at inspection, "Bill savage aproved it, I spoke to him personally." Goes a very long way..
