I changed my tires to 23 fronts and 22 rears and now it seems like I need a gear change.Any recomendations of gear ratios? And if I`m changing gears should I also change the chain?I was looking at gears sets on motosport.com site just not sure what ratio or brand of chain to get.

Anyone going to help me out here?

I'd go up one tooth on the countershaft gear if you are running stock now- should get you 85 MPH_

I would just go to a one tooth smaller front sprocket. That way you shouldn't have to replace the chain. If you want a new chain use a regina. We have had a lot of luck with them. I am thinking that you quad doesn't what to pull 5th very well due to the bigger rear tires.

Thanks Mike which two do you suggest I remove? As it is I don`t use the fronts to much so maybe them huh?(LOL)Altho I just installed my new Streamline stabilizer so I think I need the fronts on for it to work.

Left side. You can corner to the left WAY better that way:D

a smaller front gear will gear you down.

Thanks.Yes I`ll be going up on the rear.It has 14/38 stock so I`m ordering a 42 for the rear. And Mike I think I`ll stay with all four tires on it thanks.(LOL)

It depends on the terrain.

My Raptor 700 is so torquey, that we went up to 15/38 with 22 rears and it pulls it no problem- Up to you, but if you are doing wide open desert, the top end speed is nice. The 15 countershaft sprocket gear I think smoothes the power out and does not tire the rider so much. Tis was out setup before going to trx-450's and it worked much better than stock-

What is your raptor doing for you to want to change gearing? Does it feal like it lost power? Or does it feal like it has enough power to run lower gearing and make it faster?

If you lost power then drop one tooth in the front and your problem should be solved. A 42 rear seems pretty big to me plus you will need a longer chain if you go to a 42 rear.

If you think you can run lower gearing than I would drop down to a 36 rear, or go up one in the front to a 15 front which is about the same as a 36 rear. I preffer to go lower in the rear cause you gain ground clearence and you're not going to need a new chain.
