This is honestly one of the Best Races on the west coast. Great Motocross track, Cool desert loop, race through the town of Searchlight, through peoples backyard, then onto an endurocross section.

Todd and I had a blast on our quads. (Todd got stuck on a log in the Endurocross section but you didn't hear that from me!) Lots of quads... almost too many on my row (row #2) and me with no nerfs with the first turn only about 75 feet away. Yikes!

The course was fun, lots of desert stuff, LOTS of dust, a moto-x section, endurocross section, and racing through town and through people's yards and garages. It was a hoot!

The best race of the day was the UTV race at 3:30. I made Todd ride shotgun with Chris in the RzR. This is a great story...

So Chris pulls up to the line with the other UTV's. He is the only stock RzR there. All the other UTV's are all beefed-up, desert race-ready. I got real worried because these machines are like twice the size of Chris'. A couple of them race BITD and another races CORR. Anyway, Chris almost gets the holeshot and he and another RzR are neck and neck. Down the fast road, Chris gets past by all the modified vehicles. So now he's in 4th (out of 5). On the 2nd lap, guy in 1st gets a flat and pulls off. Chris is now in 3rd. Now the guy in 1st is in a Kawi Terex that goes 85mph. So he's gone and about half a lap in front of everyone else. Chris and 2nd place guy are back and forth battling about 4 times. The guy was honking at Chris (way too much) sorta being a butthead. Chris moves over because he knows he's going to get him later (so he was hoping). In the motocross section (2nd to last lap), Chris pins it and gets buy the guy on a huge riser drop-off thingy. Everyone was cheering and screaming. Chris holds him off for the entire last lap and gets 2nd Place by about 40 feet!! It was the best race of the day! The other guys were pretty bummed. They couldn't believe this was only his 2nd race ever in the RzR. Hee Hee! :D Oh good times....

my dad was the other rzr out there
i have video of the start i will try to post tonight
the funny thing is that kawi gave dragonfire 100 grand
to make that teyrx the best it can be and it gets beat by chris with stock suspension and my dad who did everything him self in our garage(even long travel). both only having exhaust.
my dad had a 10 sec lead on the teyrx but unfortunately we got a flat and didnt have a spare ready, so he just pulled off

Your Dad was doing so awesome, even with the flat. I was bummed to see him have to pull off the course. He has a really nice Rzr!

Thats great Patty. Im am so glad to see Chris out there in his RZR. Im sure Todd was bummed about the log. If you get high centered on em just right, your screwed. Thanks for the update and cool video.

u guys dont know me but im good freinds with mitch and jil canepa , they ALWAYS put on an awsome race . i raced the night race a month ago and had a blast even though i crashed when the light went out . any ways i dont know chriss personaly but have been hearing about him my whole racing career and he is one bad dude beit 2 wheels or 4 , im glad he is continuing his racing career and having a blast doing it , maybe ill say hi this weekend in jean if yur there . congrats again on yur success yur an awsome racer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure who the photographers were but I will find out. :)

Oh you know, now that I think about it more, I remember seeing the mobile Kodak guys there.
I never went over to their trailer like I planned but most of the time with those guys, you have
to purchase the photos at the race. Not sure why (cuz they would get way more business)
but they don't do anything on-line.

+1 on the Searchlight race being one of the best of the year! I had a blast as always, and each time I passed Mitch, he was watering a section west of the pits after you go through town, I was giving him a big HOOT! He just kept laughing at me and tried to reach for the hose!! He got me with a water truck a couple years ago. :D

I love going through town!!
