The intro from Rick.
WHO WE ARE AND WHY? (http://saharaclubhq.wordpress.com/2008/10/19/who-we-are-and-why/)
October 19, 2008 ·
Let me introduce myself. I’m Rick Sieman, a semi-retired journalist. I started Dirt Bike magazine way back in 1971 and have been an editor/publisher/free lancer/author of three books and writer for about 40 years.
In the mid-80s through the 90s, I got involved with fighting the Bureau of Land Management and the Sierra Club over land usage. I (and Louis
McKey the famed Phantom Duck of the Desert) started a group called the Sahara Club, a corporation designed to piss the Sierra Club off. I must have succeeded, because we found ourselves in a seemingly endless string of Federal Court battles with the BLM and the Sierra Club.
We won almost every time. In 1993, I moved to Rosarito, in Baja, Mexico, and lived there for 15 years. Recently, I moved to Arizona.
That’s me.
