yesterday i was pulling in to my work and i hear a loud pop and my rear tire on the drivers side locked up, i got out to check it out but didnt see nothing(very dark morning) i put it in drive again and it doesnt wanna go forward, i put it in reverse and a loud clank noise appears and the truck goes free, after i was leaving work same thing happened, whats wrong with my truck? is it the diff or an axle?
my truck is a 2007 toyota tacoma, my brother had hit a fence with it 2 weeks ago and the steering wheel was crooked, i got it aligned and the body work done, so i was thinking that the crash is responsible for my problem what do you guys think?

What kind of brakes does it have, drum or disc? Last time I heard a pop and the wheel locked up it was because the disc brake caliper came off and wedged inside the rim.

if you have drum brakes check the springs that hold the shoes in place.

i have disc in the front and drums in the back, im pretty sure its something in the diff from the crash, i even got some mechanic to come look at it to get a second opinion and he check out the brakes and they were fine, he said its the diff, i took the truck off my uncles hands and i ask him if it had some warranty, hes gonna go and talk to them tomorrow about the warranty, if its not in i found a used diff for 500 bucks, you guys think its cheap or expensive for a used one?

I dont think it would have anything to do with the crash but maybe what was going on before the crash might have something to do with it.

that was my first thought the crash, because it locked up when i was turning and some master techs had told me way before this happened that curving it pretty hard can damage your axles or diff, my uncle bought this truck brand new and i took over the truck last year, this was the second tacoma he had bought from the same dealer and the other one had the same thing happend to it, and they told him warranty gonna cover it:):):) i dont work tomorrow so im getting a tow truck to take it to the dealer
